IF you think high ranked players only play team games or 1 vs 1 or private games. Well some of us out there play public games. I offer my games open to anybody. Search my name for games waiting and I have a few open to join. Usally about 10 waiting and many playing. Come join a few. I enjoy playing all types of ranks.

Personally, I think those who complain are just trying to find yet another excuse for why they can't get the rank they feel they "should" have ... after all, it cannot POSSIBLY be lack of skill, could it?

Anyway, I more or less avoid you with who are Majors or above, except on a couple of boards (the realms ones, for example) where I feel I can hold my own, because I know you folks are quite a bit better than I. Not always ... the way to learn is to play those who are better, but it can be hard to learn if the games end too quickly.

I will a test to this... I was once a cook, but I got better by playing all ranks. From Cooks to Field Marshals. One of the main things that helped my game was playing freestyle speed games. It makes you think on your toes and always gotta be ready. So when you go back to casual games everything is much slower and thus seems much easier. I happen to enjoy Freestyle since it gives everybody a fair chance to have a shot at winning. Nobody can complain about it was not their turn in the game. As with freestyle everybody gets to go all at once.

I think guys starting with Blitzaholic are really high ranked...

Yeah, and how about challenging my best buddy benjij for a series of ten 1v1 classic sequential no-cards games? Tell me when you start: I want to watch.

Well it has been said per a few other threads that anybody over 2000 never plays public games unless they are team games, or 1 vs 1 against some beginner. I do not play that way. In fact 95% of my games are public, with only a few private games. Most of those I have been invited to.

When and where do I sign up? I will get 1 point for each win and risk a ton. Chances are I will not lose? And if I do that is why it is called risk.

What a pile of crap However, better ranked players would be selective about the games they play. For instance, I would not do sequential 1v1 against low ranks, or I would not do doodle assassin...

Doodle Earth Assassin is about the one game I will not play.

Its nice to see someone elsegive brucie boy another couple of swift kicks or punches....
And yes I am fairly selective about the games I enter

Getting better means that you notice those bad plays now. Before, you would just be confused as to why the game was over so quickly. At least, that's the way I feel about my escalating skills. I still make lots of bad plays, but I know it. Usually as soon as it's too late to change

I've noticed plenty of players that play games such as 8-player escalating games on the Classic map. Scott-Land and the like are out there playing good games.

Scott-land is a speed game player when it comes to 8 man games. I know because I play against him a lot. Speed 8 man freestyle games are very tough. You will not see scott pubbing it much.

ditto to the public games, I have been almost all public games from when I was cadet to crappy playin major. Going up in rank has slowwwwed a bit getting less and less for kills, and the tourneys I am up in now with some good players that are keeping me in check big time. I will hold to my preference to be a "public terminator 8 player sequential host with a bloody red dot on his back herndawg that seems to stray from classic more and more guy". 2000 points is a nice landmark for rank it seems, I am a bigger target at the same time as seeming to be a bigger threat, but we all know better that that. no threat here, just let me hang out for 6 rounds pinging ones.

You care way too much about your points/rank-- who gives a crap, really. Almost all of your threads are about "high ranks" discussing issues they have with "low ranks". With you, being one of the high ranks of course-- you seem to think that a high rank automatically makes you a good player. Oh well.

I see this said, all the time, but how far up does someone have to be to be considered "high-ranked"? Anyone over 1600 or so is in the top 10%. the lowest ranked colonel is in the top 0.7%.

Not at all Rash. I still need tons of work to be considered a good player, but if you read back into the forum, a lot of the lower ranks were complaining that no "higher" ranks are in public games. This should have been in the callouts section to be honest, but I put it here. This is an open invite for anybody to join my games.

Edited to add Personally I could care less about the points or rank, I just enjoy winning. I hate to lose.
