Can my friend join CC, with the same IP address

So my apartment mate wants to join CC, but he doesn't have his own personal laptop. This means that we'll be sharing our apartment computer, which means that we will be using the same IP address for both accounts, and it will most likely result in a ban.

So, is he allowed to join using the same computer? Or will it just result in a ban for both of us?
