Postby edsdad on Tue May 13, 2008 7:16 am

Check out this game and please let me know if this is reason enough for neg feedback. After 2 rounds he declares their alliance.Looks like I'm already screwed..I've never left neg feedback to anyone before,is this reason enough. What's your opinion?

Once i did that mistake with Big Whiskey, we wanted to play a double but i created a standard by mistake ...
we had a bloody fight against each other right from the start, and i guess this is the way it should be .... if game modus is double, play it like a double .... if it´s standard, play it as a standard game.

Playing a standard like is double is abuse in my opinion, it´s against the rules to have secret alliances, and it´s not much better to declare such an alliance in turn 1.

I wouldn't give a negative but I would put them on the old ignore list to be safe. I think you did the appropriate thing by starting a discussion about them. They'll be on thin ice until they have to earn a reputation for not doing things like that. Thanks to you, edsdad I just added them to mine.

Yes.

No.

1. He said there would be no alliance.

2. Alliances are legal if announced.
3. If you don't like the tactic, put them on your ignore list. If you must, give them a neutral not a neg.   Negs are for things that are truly bad, not "grey" areas.

oddly enough, if you follow feedback moderation threads at all, even though alliances are legal, they can be grounds for negative feedback... odd, right? go figure..-0

A definite yes.

As owen points out, it has been seen on the threads about this. Mods deem alliances as good enough reason to leave negative feedback.

Just putting them on ignore is crazy. It simply means you are leaving the rest of the players at risk. To do so in this 'community' would be wrong.

I would leave negative feedback and put them on ignore.

Take a look at these words from wicked:

You made an alliance in a 3 person game and you're wondering why you got negative feedback? Are you serious?

King is correct. It is legit to leave feedback anytime an alliance is made. Believe it or not, not everyone here likes alliances, and feedback is a tool to advise others how you play.

I believe different mods have different opinions on this. The outstanding issue is that mods, in general try to stay out of feedback except in true abuse issues. Even then, it sort of depends on to whom you talk.

Personally, I think negs should be reserved for things that EVERYONE doesn't like, not things that are personal issues. (like foul language, alliances, double turns, etc.) I use a neutral to express such things. But, that is just my opinion.
