who said captains are smart?

most people seem to think with rank comes skill.

well i beg to differ.

here's a little story of 2 captains that have no skill or intelligence.

Game 2490581

first moron, Drasill,
in turn 6 yellow takes 8 (eight) terits from drasill. normally what does a player do when he loses 8 terits? he fights back. wrong. drasill gets all his troops and suicides on me leaving a trail of 1s for yellow to take. i ask him wtf? and he says he didn't notice yellow was attacking him and that he considered me the biggest threat (never attacked him before and in fact he went to some neutrals to get to me and commit suicide.
oh well, suiciders are a common thing on CC not captain suiciders though.

second moron is Skiman.
his "brilliant" play comes in action in turn 9. yellow had a bonus of 29 in turn 8 plus a stack of 35 armies ready to attack us. so i start attacking yellow and break a lot of his bonuses. and i ask Skiman to try and lower yellow's 35 army otherwise he will get back his bonuses.
what does he do? he starts attacking the terits i have taken from yellow. terits where i left armies (2-3-4) on each to make it hard for yellow to take them. so he wastes his troops on my defences and leaves just 1s for yellow to take.

obviously both will get negatives and a nice warm spot on my ignore list.

You are correct on "suiciders", however, incorrect when you say "not captains". As far as your post, I can't agree with you more.

God damn morons...Although taking your ones to get a bigger bonus, I would have done that too obviously. BUT, not before yellow has taken them back....

Idiots. They won't be captains for long, if they play like that...

but he wasn't taking my 1s i didn't leave 1s i left 2-3 or even 4 armies on those terits to prevent yellow from taking them back. or at least to cause yellow to lose as many troops as possible.

and guess what, he says he didn't see yellow's troops so he wanted to go through mine. wtf? is yellow invisible?
he had 35 troops on a dock. red also owned a dock. so it was easy to see them.
not to mention i pointed in chat that yellow had 35 on that dock. and nothng, he still attacked me.

now he leaves me a negative that i'm issuing orders and he doesn't like it.

what part of this chat is issuing an order?

2008-05-22 14:31:36 - DiM: red we need to fight back. please help here.
2008-05-22 14:32:45 - DiM: i have stomped most of his bonuses but with that 35 he will take them back easily. try to lower it
2008-05-22 14:32:59 - DiM: he has 35 in eon

english is not my main language but as far as i'm concerned "please" can't be considered an arrogant order. it's just a diplomatic decent plea for help.

Well, there was a minor change in the scoreboard a while back so it's questionable whether those can be considered "genuine" Captains or just Lieutenants, but anyone should be able to spot things like being attacked and from where you can most easily attack an other territory, no matter what their rank.

Eww, morons.

Of course, I've seen several make bad moves, typically they moved up the ranks through doodle assassins though >_>

More than likely, the guy who suicided on you just wanted bragging right to say he took out the guy who made the map.

Shouldn't this be in FW?

i don't think so. i doubt they even knew i made the map.

usually when people play me on my maps they say something like nice map or kill dim cause he knows the map.

Rank doesn't always dictate the quality of the choices made during play. I recently had a Captain hand a game to a Sergant by breaking the bonus of the only person on the map who could maintain any balance on the map, and the game ended two rounds later.

so it goes.
