AoR3: One Dirty Map

Whoever starts in Sanctuary really has an advantage on the first turn, especially if they get good dice. I still love it, but I hate it.

I agree... sanctaury is just really unfair.

Sanctuary has a big disadvantage...The island can be attacked(bombarded) without losses from any village it seems.Plus it instantly gives away your location in fog of wars which is another big disadvantage.

the sanctuary is a blessing and a curse at the same time. i meant it like that due to the role of the sanctuary in the trilogy. it was a place of worship that turned into a disaster.
yes you can get a bonus fast but you are also wide open to attacks from everybody else and your location is disclosed instantly.
my best advice for sanctuary is to be as aggressive as possible. if you plan to sit back and collect the bonuses to build a big force then you're doomed.

problem most of them easily give away where u are

If you know the map good, then you can read where your opponent is after the first round. No matter where he is.
But yes, Sanctuary is easier to find ^^

I have a fairly easy time saying that people are not on Figye, not on Ghyr, or on Aoria based on the "unimportant" territory counts and the village/resource pair counts. How can you tell that people are on specific places?

DiM, as you can see, the Sanctuary is a big advantage in a two-player game. Is there a way to fix this?

i have received a number of pms regarding this map. all kinds of opinions.
some people think the sanctuary is overpowered others think it's too weak.
some people liked the 3 army bonus others didn't.
some say xi is at an advantage.
because i want to offer the best possible experience to players i want your help to tweak the gameplay.
i'm thinking this:
1. raise the number of neutrals on the blood waters from 1 to 2.
2. reintroduce the 3 armies per turn from terit bonus
3. raise rock rune 1 from 1 neutral to 2 neutrals.
thoughts/opinions/feedback.....

Numbers 1 and 3 sounds great. Number 2 would be fine, also, but I don't ever have a problem accruing armies, so I don't think it makes that much of a difference.
DiM, I also just wanted to say you've made three great maps in this series. I thoroughly enjoy them, as you can see in my "Games Completed" list. AoR3 just needs a little tweaking.

i started out with sanctuary, and i got all the blood terits... those gave me the boost for an attack. however, later in teh game, my opponent conquered all of them, but by them i had so many bonuses that i just neutralized all of them.
