Stripers

Postby State409c on Mon Jun 02, 2008 8:56 am

I used to roll my eyes when I saw the higher ranks referring to them in a derogatory way, but after playing about 3 games with them recently, I understand.

I also used to be on the "high ranked players aren't that good" bandwagon because they don't play stripers, but I've flip flopped on that now. They are completely unpredictable.

In game 2545757, I asked pink to play a role early in the game, and blue decided to take offense to it and just randomly started plowing over me, not really caring whether he wins the game or not.

There really isn't much strategy that can overcome this. These guys just suck.

Did you remember to put money in their G strings? Stripers play nicer when you do that.

You're already premium so you don't need it.

actually, if you go read the game chat, the problem with the game is pretty much you. everyone in the game is not their to help you win. it is not a team game. being upset with someone because they are making it more difficult for you to move or impossible for you to win, is pretty much whining. i love that you put up this thread, because it shows how clueless you are, as to how annoying and pushy you are being in the game... i hope they all just start attacking you, eliminate you, and then come laugh at you in this sad little thread. what a poor attitude you have:

State409c: Blue, answer the question...are you a retarded ass redneck? You just made it EASIER for green to win this game...he had to go through my 6 to kill me, then turn to you, well, you just took out my 6 for him, making me and yourself easier to kill
State409c: you retarded monkey...I bet you have some extra chromosomes don't you? The piss everyone off strategy usually gets employed after dumbasses like you f*ck my game over

you sir are a true diplomat!!-0

I've already got a lot of negatives. Once it resets, I might attempt diplomacy, but I've found most lower ranked players simply don't get it, even when you are offering it to them.

Red did have bad early rolls, but he took a shot again in the third round when he had no hope, and put himself out of the game because of it. It's escalating, so anything can happen. At that point in the game, pink was also super weak and would have been on his way out had he not been given the gift of blues retarded (no) strategy. But, he now has a good shot to win, that could have been red. That's not actually what has me perturbed. Apparently, my comments to red set blue off and he took it upon himself to to take me out, without much regard to winning the game. He doesn't really seem to have strategy, just hope the cards and the game falls his way and he gets a win occasionally. Like I said in my first post, when one guy decides he is going to suicide you and isn't being hurt himself by the other 2 players, there really isn't any strategy other than getting the cards when you need it to stop him.

I don't treat this game like the rest of you people do. I don't care to be nice to stripers and hope they don't f*ck me over. Jawing with retarded rednecks like Dave VT is part of my fun, and it happens in about 30% of my games. The other 70% of my games I get guys that aren't idiots or I manage to escape their wrath and I have a fun game. It's just how it goes with these people.

But thanks for the nut riding owen, I can always count on your 2 pesos.

Bad attempted stripper joke aside....

Because you have *cough* rank that gives you the right to dictate gameplay?

They should listen to you because your coming across as a control freak??

Your post could just as easily been titled "Instant asshole... just add sense of entitlement"

Actually...it sounds like you're the one who doesn't get it.

Nobody joins up a game to make you happy. They do it to play the game as they see fit...however they see fit. If someone has fun relying on dumb luck...I don't see the harm in that. Maybe you should adjust your strategy to account for people who like playing the game that way? Or maybe you should just play private games?

Just trying to help you out here.

It's really annoying to have to reply to comments like these when you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

It was an escalating game. Do you get that? A measely 2 bonus isn't shit. Period. I got in first, played first, and politely asked red not to attempt what he was going to do to the detriment of both of us. He tried again not once more, but twice more, even after I tried to give him some advice...and where did it get him? Eliminated early as f*ck. Just on that basis only, my early game comments were spot on, you can't argue that point at all.

My rank didn't have anything to do with it when I started that game. It's funny you mention rank though, when I've asked higher ranked players to move in a diplomacy situation, it usually goes well for me. The stripers just don't understand escalating and fight tooth and nail for regions. Why you are questioning me on this basic simple CC fact and trying to pull in all those retarded talking points you just did is beyond me. Maybe you're bored

They do it to play the game as they see fit...however they see fit. If someone has fun relying on dumb luck...I don't see the harm in that. Maybe you should adjust your strategy to account for people who like playing the game that way?

seems like a better strategy than bitching in the forums when someone doesn't play the way you want.

However I do. This is a game about strategy, where every move affects everybody in the game. If it's obvious someone slamming their armies into you will gift the game to another player, all the time you spent on that game is ruined, the fun gone. It takes away from the enjoyment factor most people get from the game, whether or not you want to spew the BS that you had fun in the process (which for 90% of the players, it is fun up until the point that you get suicided on, or have the game thrown).

You're correct. Up until now, I had specifically selected opponents similar in rank to me and really haven't had many problems with diplomacy and predictable and enjoyable game play. But over time, I've found less and less middle ranked players playing the games I like (freestyle escalating) so I figured I'd try my hand at some stripers and have had the same experience that other folks have had playing them.

They just suck. You can't talk to them because they think you are telling them how to play, they will go after a region bonus to the death in an escalating game, etc. This is just common CC knowledge, no debating that.

Maybe there should be some kind of evaluation exam...and if someone doesn't use a required strategy....or lack the ability to grasp said strategy....they shouldn't be allowed to join this site.

Does that sound better?

There are many player who play freestyle Escalating games. I usually have a good amount up, but off for the week so no games right now. I totally understand not wanting to get hung or suicided into. For those who want to foe you are also the same people who will most likely hang you. I play 8 man freestyle escalating games. They are fun. I have learned to deal with the suicides from people and win a decent amount :)

I was thinking the same thing. He's only a couple hundred points above me (and a couple hundred more games) and would have been the rank I currently am a short time ago. All of the sudden...now he's too good for our kind.

And...out of curiosity...is 25 bucks reallyl that much money?

Well I gotta say it depends on the day---

Sometimes I am A Striper, Sometimes I am an Officer. I like playing both they each have their own type of stratigies that they think work.

Thank god we are not all the same...
