Terms of service and mod abuse

Show me where it says in the terms of service that I have to post all of my dice threads in 1 thread.

It says that no where. When I paid for CC, I agreed by the rules established, not these ones.

If you want to change the rules, fine, give me the ability to receive a full refund, or keep my payment and continue with the new rules.

OK, maybe if we all pile on and insult you, we can get this thread locked or moved to Flame Wars. Will that do?

So when a mod PMs me and tells me not to make new threads, that's a violation, because the DICE THREADS rule was not a rule when I signed up.

That's fine, but that would be breaking the rules for NOT following the thread topic, harassing other members, etc etc etc.

Not starting thread after thread on the same thing has been a rule as long as there have been message boards. I mean, assuming that you don't want to be vinegary fresh. Do you want to be vinegary fresh?

If you read the forum guidelines located at the top of the Board Index as well as right above the text box when you type a post, you'll see why.

1. Make sure your post is absolutely necessary and contributes something without trolling or flaming.

2. The Search button is your friend. By properly executing a search function, you will find that there are TONS of posts on dice. Pick where you would like to toss yours. If you choose to start your own thread, wicked or Twill will pick a new home for you. ;)

Ok, show me the terms of service where it says I can't create dice threads.

You can post about the dice all you want. We just ask that all similar topics be kept to one thread, not spamming the forum up with multiple threads about the same topic.

Yup, wicked's right.

If you post on a topic which already has a thread (and which has been beaten to death many times before), we are likely to consolidate them into one big thread so that everyone (including us) can find all the dice complaints in one place.

This is what the search button is for ;)

Have a good one

That's cool and all, but show me where it says so in the terms of service.

I agreed to the terms of service, not the forum "rules".

By posting in the forum, you agree to abide the rules. As I told you in PM, forums aren't part of what you paid for, and are a privilege. The forum guidelines aren't that hard to follow, mostly common sense, even the kids here can do it for the most part. ;) We'd love to hear your expert knowledge on randomness, just keep it to that one thread, ok? All the info already posted today has been nicely merged for everyone. Thanks.

When you bought premium membership, you paid for this:
premium membership wrote:In return for your support, Premium Membership earns you the following benefits:

Play UNLIMITED simultaneous games
Play thrilling real-time SPEED games
Create password-protected PRIVATE games (which Free members may join, too)
Have a GOLDEN rank icon display next to your name
Feel that WARM and FUZZY feeling you get from supporting a website that you love

It says NOTHING about the forums. They could get rid of the forums completely, and you wouldn't be able to do anything about it, because the premium membership description says nothing about the forums.

When I said this to Twill in a PM

On just about every other message board in the internets,

He replied this

See, but this isn't every other forum on the internet, this is this forum and it's not governed by the rules of other sites.

In fact, the argument we were having actually revolved around the mods and site rulers making up rules or enforcing vaguely worded terminology on an as-it-fits-their-whim basis.

Now, be a dear and explain to us where it says premium members are to be protected from this "as-it-fits-their-whim" activity?

Hold up, you're not even freaking premium! Surely you don't want your money back.

That wasn't my argument you clown. I was just showing you the mods explicitly stated something in conflict with your opinion.

That happens almost everytime when Wicked posts about my opinion... doesn't mean I want my money back.

Say it ain't so! I've got an inbox full of mods stating something in conflict with my opinion. Color me surprised.

Sure, the terms of service don't say, "You cannot start multiple threads about the same thing over and over again just because they're getting merged into one topic." It also doesn't say, "You cannot call dayalsoap a "complete moron, who can't get a simple concept through his thick head"", but I bet if I were to do that, I bet they'd tell me to stop too.
