I'm going to go with not. I recall some sort of proclamation requiring alliances in game chat to be made with a language that everyone in the game understands... however, the onus is probably on you to say in game chat that you don't speak spanish.

well, maybe they assumed you spoke spanish, alot of people do. you could have asked for a translation or something... i don't know... once someone gets busted for multiple accounts, i kind of lose interest in fighting for justice for them...-0

the rules state:
Any form of diplomatic discussion between opponents must be posted in the game chat in a language that all opponents understand. Diplomacy includes, but is not limited to: proposing truces, negotiating alliances, and coordinating attacks. Secret diplomacy can be hard to prove, but if you suspect it you should leave the players in question appropriate ratings. If you feel certain about players engaging in secret diplomacy consider reporting them in the Cheating & Abuse Reports forum by posting a new topic.

again, maybe they assumed he spoke spanish. i have played in games where people called for alliances in other languages, and i have asked if they can translate for me, and they do, willingly. it isn't against the rules, you just have to make sure everyone can understand. there are a slew of different language forums on here, so not everyone speaks english. it is allowed, if everyone can understand.-0

Technically it's not allowed, but realistically there is babelfish - Yahoo owns it now - and you could translate the text yourself to something that you might be able to understand.

Well, me doesn't understand gibberish, so kindly refrain from calling for alliances in any of my games unless you plan to translate for the board.

Maybe they figured one of you 100 or so multis knew how to speak spanish. I mean, it's a long shot, but with as many as you had/have, you kind of have to look at the odds.

Since the wonders of the babelfish I can undertand spanish, portuguese, afrikaans, dutch and english. But otherwise I do the small bothersome thing of not assuming my language is predominant and if it bothers me I ask people to translate...oh the horror. (sarcasm aimed at original poster)

How many differnent languages can I say GET BACK ON TOPIC? :-k

Any talk of alliances and their details must be in a language understood by all in the game.
