Assassin games with zip diddly squat subtlety

I've recently joined several Assassin games to try to get a new medal.

and quite frankly the lesser members have no subtlety in their attacks. It's like 'I've got Pedro as my target - first attack, attack Pedro'
Second Attack - attack Pedro
WTF?
what ever happened to playing the game as we did before a little red target was stuck by someones name? also - if 'x' attacks you, why not counter that person by attacking them back. but no - everyone seems to have no ability to mask their mission. I try to avoid hitting my target in the first couple of goes to hide my target - but the other players seem intent on just going hell for leather to kill their target.
It's embarrassing watching all the other players expose their targets whilst I try to keep mine a secret. and after 2 rounds, it was pointless hiding my target because everyone knows who is attacking who for their mission.

(This only applies to public games so far)

What is going on?

Seems like a legitimate strategy, especially on smaller (7 or fewer territories to start) maps or games with cards. If you're going to get a card in the first round, you might as well attack your target, because attacking someone else takes a large chunk or their territory. Plus, you might not stick around very long on that part of the map.

I had someone make this complaint in game chat Game 2613328. But I just kept attacking him, and then he died. So it worked.

Try larger maps or no card games (or higher ranked players, but no guarantees there) for more complex strategies.

I'm playing a game where yellow has green as a target. Yellow is my target and my dice have let me down and he now owns 2 continents.
Green has just been battered down to 7 territories and has blue as his target.
Blue is too big to be killed by green, but green has an oppertunity to break one of yellows continents.
So green goes on a rampage against blue, leaving himself thin and yellow about to get 14 armies for his number of territories and his continents.
Yellow is going to win now.

It just seems to be one way traffic in these games with little or no understanding that your enemy is just as important as your target to winning the game.

i have won several games within the first 11 seconds by applying this tactic.

If however you get to SEE round 3 then tactics change considerably.

Sorry - I should of mentioned that the above game in question is sequential and not being played on doodle earth.

I've not played a freestyle, doodle earth game, nor will I. An 11 second game isn't a game. I could build up for a sneeze in that time and by the time my eyes re open i'd be dead.
It's summer time and my hayfever is a nightmare

I wonder whether people think the strategy that's being bashed becomes moot when you play circus maximus assassin... b/c there are no bonuses, and b/c of the limited attack paths and troop deployments, it's easier/necessary to attack multiple players in the furtherance of your objective. Thoughts?

In the Doodle Assassin games, speed is a must. Many times, you can get both of your targets spots before anyone even moves.

I can see your complaint if it's a larger map, though.

I'm just posting here to thank you for using 'zip diddly squat' in your topic title.

Some might say that it is your duty to prevent someone else being killed? (you stand to lose just as much as green does by his death)

yes in this case you have a duty as does any other on the board who wants to win to knock down the strong man. if that player goes on unchecked then there is no other outcome than him winning. as far as masking you target? might be a smart play sometimes but that has to chacge with the game. depending on deployment, if you can hurt your target real bad before he gets a start i say go for it. if he is secluded from you then a more discrete tactic is nessessary.

i havent played alot of assassin games but ive been pretty good in terms of winning.

if i have a sensible attack on my target I always go for it. the games ive been involved in have basically been races so its the only thing I could do

I usually try to very loudly claim that whomever I am attacking is not my target.

So far I've only won one game.

Well that speaks for itself. Time for a change of plan methinks.
