I'm curious as to how many of you out there in CC land think Wicked is being too Wicked, I mean abusive of her Mod powers? First, this was for Mods period, then Wachia asked that it be directed more towards Global Mods, now Wicked says, I should direct it entirely at her. So here it is. I'm not changing it again.

Refuse to answer, on the grounds it will get me banned for 24 hours.

is a sad indictment of the current situation...

Personally I haven't seen anything bad by them. However, like with all systems, once you screw up, *of course* you're less likely to have things slide by them. Once you become a nuisance person, mods have less tolerance to deal with you. I've gotten a few PM's from the mods before but I doubt I've reached that state yet, except with King Achilles who I seriously doubt has any sympathy for me after the many... many e-tickets I filled out (and thus the reason we are stuck with this shit rating system ).

Just as a person who "didn't learn his lesson" might get a more harsh punishment in comparison to a first time offender, for something such as petty theft.

It's like that with almost all things... deal with it. They're forums....

To be wicked with ones power is a terrible thing. Wickedness promotes negativity and fear. It is a commonly known fact that those who are wicked generally suffer from self loathing so perhaps wicked is too strong a word. Abuse of position may be more apt, but then who am I to cast such a judgement.

Guys do you wanna know what the god honest truth is? Everyone here is quick to jump on and complain about almost anything in the community side of this site. Lets remember the forum it supplied to ever member for free, thats right free. Just remeber you membership pays for:

* Play UNLIMITED simultaneous games
* Play thrilling real-time SPEED games
* Create password-protected PRIVATE games (which Free members may join, too)
* Have a GOLDEN rank icon display next to your name
* Feel that WARM and FUZZY feeling you get from supporting a website that you love

Lack and the rest of the team bust their hole to keep the site as fresh and exciting as possible. Update are brought to try and give the community surprises. You guys aint happy with that so your opinion is then sought but after your opinion has been taken
into consideration your all still not happy and want to compalin further.

When there isnt some update to complain about you turn onto the mods so that you can channel some kind of frustration towards. Why? because its always makes people feel better to blame someone else for whats going on. Everyone on teamCC is there because they want to volunteer there time to help the site and keep the community engaged and intrested. Unfortunatly, no one seems to apperciate that I beleive teamCC is here to dicate your every word.

If you really want something to change something, PM twill or andy, tell them what problem you have with a mod. Its there job to manage the team here. If you dont want to talk to twill or andy PM another member of team CC that your comfortable with, most will be more than happy to talk to admin on your behalf. team are here to make things better jsut remeber that.

I am both a player and A mod. I am here to have fun.

I do not think of it as us and them because I am both. Yet I see constantly these posts that lump all together, putting all mods in a BAD LIGHT.

Now that you have read them I have a job for you. In General discussions and its sub directories, read every topic and every post in that topic for 1 week. DO NOT SKIM THEM, read them . Every time you see a violation PM me. As you do this keep in mind that as you PM me about a violation, that that is just the beginning of my job.
I now have to consider what to do about that violation of the guidelines (I will write you an answer for each pm).

This will of course increase my work load. But it will also give you a small sense of what we do.

But why do this when you can just complain....

There is no doubt that mods do a lot of thankless, volunteer work. That wasn't the question. As gimil stated, people HAVE complained about the modding. It isn't for lack of something better to do, it is because there are certain people who bait others, abuse her power and the owners of the site allow it. It makes things generally unfun in here, and leads to witch hunts. Anything said by certain people leads to warnings or smart aleck comments, which when responded to, get you banned. A certain mod lives and polices the forum by her own rules, with no recourse.

I don't have a problem with authority. I am not an immature teen flexing my internet muscles here. I post somewhat intelligently in topics that I can contribute in. But to say one sentence in a 15 sentence topic makes a post off topic, is just abusing power.

I am already clicking "report post" on every post I see off topic. Will those go to you inbox too?

That goes to a report forum that all mods and the global mods have access to.

OK so if I read your answer correctly when you are sayings the mods are being wicked then you really are saying wicked is being wicked. She is not a mod as I am she is a Global mod.

This means you can drop the axe about MODS in general and Attack Global mods instead.

This would lower the amount of mods being attacked.

Not to kiss ass of course, but I get much enjoyment of the posts written by most of BPB and owen pm'd me quite a few times bringing me to attention of violations of his posting and others before I got to them. He also told me a few times that he had pushed to far on a few posts and was being spoken with by powers above me.

He knew when he was pushing as i am sure we all do when we we push.

But he was spoken to about it, it was not just an arbitrary thing. He just chose to continue. I do not know how long he is banned for. I do not know for which he was banned for. I do miss his insightful comments. But like all actions there is some times a reaction. If you push sometimes you get pushed back.

I hear ya. I sat out my ban, which was completely justified, with no complaints. I just wanted to help keep Owen's backdoor protected in CC jail. I hear bad things happen to pretty boys like O in prison....

Sentiment appreciated there. And you're right, sometimes people do just scatter-gun complain, and that's fairly unproductive.

On the other hand, I think you might be missing some of the subtleties of the OP if you think that this thread is a complain about mods in general... even if they are fairly 'wicked' from time to time.

I think the point here is about mods (global mods, etc) who don't do your job. Who not only don't read all of the threads that they're supposed to, but who also don't respond in an equal and equitable manner when they occasionally do deign to read occasional brief snatches of text.

Nobody here (so far as I'm aware) is having a pop at you Wac, or at the function you personally exercise. They're having a pop at somebody very different, and the fact that that person frequently fails to exercise the diligence, even-handedness, civil-tone and self-adherence to the forum guidelines that you so rightfully state ought to be a mod's duty.

Because it's all we're permitted to do (y'know, what with mods only being appointed on a behind-the-scenes, no-volunteers, no-public-vote system).
Also, I'm not being rude here, but why make out that your 'job' is so tough when you're a 'volunteer'. If you hate it that much, then nobody is shackling you to the post.

brett, I'm sorry you don't want to understand, but flaming outside of flame wars immediately after you were warned not to is a completely justified reason, even if you edit the post to try to hide it later. As was any other ban I've handed out, including owen's. If it wasn't, twill would've pitched a fit about it before he took off, but he didn't and yes, we did talk about owen's. Mods are policed by admin, and if any ever do something wrong, are talked to by admin. So yes, we are accountable, even if you don't like what we do.

It's normal to complain after a ban, happens most of the time. I'm not going to get into a debate here; I've stated the facts, feel free to continue complaining though. Just remember, this is an internet gaming site, come here to play and unwind and escape from your real life stresses. But in the end, remember, CC is just a game, forums and all.

the essay demonstrates my dismay at my ban, my changed ways, and my willingness to co-operate. i am even prepared to swallow that o-so-bitter pill and say i did wrong if i can get the chance to change i feel i deserve.

I think the "flaming out of flame wars" thing needs to be cleared up. What actually constitutes a flame outside of flame wars and what doesn't?

See I got warned for a joke which stated: "Burn the witch" towards Wicked as there was a joke accusation of multis against her in Cheating and Abuse. Now, this three word comment contained no cusses, and wasn't insulting or degrading in any way towards Wicked and wasn't even intended as a negative comment, wicky knew it was a joke too, yet I still got a warning for it for flaming out of flame wars from twill.

It doesn't quite make sense how in some threads, mods can call players "gay" or make similar other mild flames around in general discussion such as putting down idiots like wrestler1ump and not get warned for it yet other players, especially if they happen to be in certain "clans" which are considered disruptive influences on the forum get warned for making mild jokes, when there wasn't even malicious intention behind them in the first place.

Double standards towards people the mods like and people the mods don't like ought to be cleared up, I've seen much worse things posted in the forums by people in the mods good books, just completely ignored yet others are constantly picked on for making slight flames or "thread hijacking". Think how many threads in the forum are supposedly hijacked, it's not hijacking it's just going with the flow of the discussion generated, if a new topic was made for each slight change of topic within a topic, the forum would actually be a much messier place.

No Robin, not the first and not the last time I've made a mistake. After all, I'm human (last I checked). I will and do admit mistakes I've made. Why just yesterday, I made a major mistake in an ass game, which I'm expecting all 1's for because I deserve it!
