What's the rule on account sitters?

In one week, June 29th, I will be leaving for a camp I am working at. I will not have access to a computer for six days per week. I have two games ongoing, two of which I should be able to finish by the time I leave. The camp runs until August 15th, so should I leave it's likely I will deadbeat in both of my games.

However, I wasn't thinking and joined an 8 player game yesterday, and I have a 4 player game that's been running for about three weeks, which is turning out to be the greatest game I've played on CC yet. That is the one I am most concerned about.

I remember reading somewhere about account sitters, but I don't remember what the exact rule is. Can somebody refresh me on the rules of account sitting? All I'd need somebody to do is follow an outline which I could give them - generally just deploying my armies on my borders.

Thanks,
-Spear

FAQ 15 wrote:You can, with the stipulation that the account babysitter is not your opponent in any current game and does not start or join new games (except for ongoing tournaments). It is common courtesy to announce in game chat that another player will take your turn(s) during your absence. Furthermore, you should only take another player's turn if they are in danger of missing a turn, not for the purpose of gaining a tactical advantage.

You need to be gone for more then 24 hours. They cant play any games they are in also, inless in those games they are team games and they are on your team. They cannot start any new games.

Thanks Wicked. Probably should have checked there first, forgot about those FAQs ;)

I think I'll check with my team in the 8p game to find a sitter for that, and maybe he'll be able to help me out in the other game too.

Sounds like a plan. And don't worry, most people forget about the FAQ since we have such a helpful and quick-responding community here. Enjoy camp!! 8-)
