question about deferred armies

I have a question about missing turns. From what I remember reading, if you miss your turn you still will get the armies based on the number of territories you hold, but you miss out on your continent bonus. However, in game 2689606, it seems as if red got the West Australia bonus of 6 armies.
receives 6 armies for holding Western Australia
2008-07-08 20:11:20 - receives 4 armies for 12 territories
2008-07-08 20:11:20 - receives 10 deferred armies for missing 1 rounds
Those extra armies have helped this player and turned an even game into his favor because while missing a turn, taking a turn and missing another turn, us other two were going after each other.
Did the rule change so now you get deferred bonus armies or was I mistaken all along? Otherwise, it seems as if people could just skip turns as an ongoing strategy (I am not saying that happened here of course).
Anyways, just trying to figure it out. Thanks!

The way it works is if you miss a turn and come back that turn you get double the deploy.
Lets say you had europe (bonus of 5) and 9 territories (drop of 3) you would normally get a drop of 8 total
Miss a turn and someone breaks Europe even though you held it one turn you miss out on the bonus.
Make sense?

Vegan is right. You misinterpreted the way the rule works, continent bonuses are deferred.

Thank you for the replies - I will definitely adjust my strategy accordingly when people miss turns.

I'm not so sure that's always right.
I think you get whatever you have in deployable # as of the turn you actually take.
So for example, if I break your Australia bonus before you take your next turn, even if you were holding it during the turn that your deferred armies "accrued", you won't get them.
You definitely don't get you auto-deploy #, so watch out on feudal and New World

that isn't what everyone said. you get double what you would have received on the turn you are taking. you do not receive what you would have had on the turn you missed. so, if you held a bonus, but missed a turn, and then your bonus was broken, you do not get the armies for having held the bonus for your missed turn. you only get double what you are to receive on the turn you finally take. sooo, it is always a good idea to attack someone that misses a turn. break their bonus, limit their armies, and the damage that can be done by deferred armies is minimal...-0
