1. Classic 8 player escalating speed - some guys are really good at this (Rashid)... or just escalating 8 player
2. Farming new recruits in 1v1 freestyle (torcav2, MOBAJOBG, rabbiton)
3. Playing team games which you never lose (sjnap)
4. Play 1v1 on a map and always win! (Warsteiner, Benjikat is dead)
5. Win a battle royale (if they ever come again!)

Or 4. Choose a ridiculously stupid map and win it constantly i.e. Bamboo Jack and Warsteiner
Another honourable way to get to the top

as long as you get there within the CC rules, anyway is honorable, i suggest any one try any of these ways and see if you can get there, not as easy as it looks at all.
finally, no disrespect, but NO ONE knows just how difficult it is once you get around 4000 score and higher to keep rising unless you been there yourself. with many more players now over 3000 score then the good old days, it is more obtainable then used to be, but still very challenging.

very good point and should be added for the 4th option, but still harder than some think to do

I would not call them 'stupid maps', rather luck minimizing maps where strategy and skill count more. More examples: Benjicat is Dead (Waterloo), Torter of Worlds (Feudal).
Same thing applies with "strategy outcome" maps like AoR:1, but the strategy is so simple there that it taps out well before 2000.
Seems you can get to 3000-3500+ this way, but that' still sounds like the "top" from where I'm sitting.

Any way you get to the top that doesn't involve cheating or multi's is honorable.
If you play 1v1 freestyle games (I set up a ton of them) or play team games (I also do a ton of these) you run into a few problems. Sure you win most of them... but 1 win= <10 points and 1 loss <50 points. You have to win around 80-90% of your games this way to keep gaining points and it goes painfully slow at times.
I have a ton of respect for anyone over 3k no matter which 'dishonorable' way they got there. You can look at any 1v1 game I lost vs. a cadet, or cook, or whatever... and when you look in the game log you will see that I take my losses gracefully and accept it.
If you think its a shitty thing to do, then stop doing it yourself buddy

there are 2 more ways to the top
5. win a BR
6. play anybody on any map with any setting and simply be bloody brilliant. (whoever does this has my eternal respect)

DiM's 6 is the only way to honorably get there!
Fixed that one up for ya.

So I see... but it looks like you've switched over to freestyle... which, for those of us who suffer the "lag" issue, means a negative edge.

If you play aor1 with sequential you lose half of them

I miss the good old days when 1500 points was the top...I managed to make it into the top 10 back then (after I busted half the top accounts for multis

)
I'd like to add 5.5 though - get on Lack's good side and change the DB entry...I think that's the only way I'd get to the top

For those who manage it, I have a lot of respect. If they got there honestly - I am in awe of their skill, if they go there within the rules, but only in letter and not in spirit, then I am impressed with their ability to seek out and exploit loopholes, if they got there by cheating, chances are we'll bust em sooner or later

Another way is to learn a map, before everyone else and milk the whole of cc with any format you can get them in on.

You should add another option.
Be so bloody skilled that no matter what map nor settings you play, you win.

Kemmler wrote:If you play aor1 with sequential you lose half of them
lol, not if you are good at is. I won much more than half my games on the map with sequential.
(I said won, becuase i don't play the map anymore exept in diffrent tournaments i'm in.)

done-- *edit*, after going back on my games, i realised that i had actually come out of these settings with (-1)... so.... I guess I can't count this.
3. Playing team games which you never lose (sjnap)

, takes too much effort to join the games4. Play 1v1 on a map and always win! (Warsteiner, Benjikat is dead)
done5. Win a battle royale (if they ever come again!)
done
As I have shown, there should be an
almost all of the above option

.

Which one haven't you done to be almost all of the above- Poo ? Think 2 & 4 can be combined as one...

Scott-Land wrote:Think 2 & 4 can be combined as one...
No they are very different...
2: you purposely join games because they have been created by noobs with freestyle settings
4: you make the game yourself and take on whoever joins.... (and also for me this includes doubles, triples and quads in the fog on Waterloo, not just 1v1s)
gdeangel wrote:I would not call them 'stupid maps', rather luck minimizing maps where strategy and skill count more.
I also totally agree with with, really annoys me that maps that are beyond some peoples' intellectual capability immediately get labeled as "stupid"

I looked at 2 as deliberately joining against "q marks", barely any competition and alot of deadbeats.
4 is more like being extremely good at a setting (1v1 on a certain map) and beating anyone who dares to join your games.

I'm getting to like #4 1vs1 speed freestyle eventhough I was beaten into submission by Kemmler in 4 games yesterday.
Of course, PM and Paddy The Cat have both shown me the exit in 2 games each with consummate ease before.

i think 4 turns everyone into a ? that joins regardless of how good you are because of certain maps.

6. Create 8 player noob-magnet games and wait for all players to be kicked out, foe all competent players (Klobber and Circus Maximus)
