Conquer Club

eventually, we all get involved with someone in a game, that spills over to PM's, and it can get nasty. however, at what point does the banter go from being funny, playful, a bit nasty, to just being a bit too abusive. i received the following PM's from a member of a respected clan, after i requested that he remove a 1 rating he gave me for attitude, in a game me and my partner beat him in. we were challenged by his partner while playing members of their clan in another game, and were playfully talked mega-trash to until we joined... we responded in kind, had a nice bout with them, destroyed them, and then i received a 1 rating for my attitude in the game. yes, we talked trash, and they responded. but whatever, that's fine, keep the rating. but at what point are PM's so abusive that you can ask a mod to step in? can you receive a ban for abusive PM's? i myself have sent out more than a few nasty PM's, but they are always argumentative and not childish as these PM's are. these PM's are not affecting my life, i am just wondering when abusive is too abusive. does anyone have any input on this? As long as there's nothing blatantly bigoted about what they're saying, and if they're not threatening your life and family, you should just let it roll off your shoulders.

E-thuggery should not be tolerated by any means, but really, they're probably just emotional and angsty teens.

Worst case scenario: you can always just foe them?

Well all the editing does knock the air from the sails, but I saw wicked's name up near the top so hopefully she is on it. If not shoot me a pm with it or just delete his like I do your--I mean nevermind

this is not a flame thread. i didn't mention any clans. and i like the guys clan, they are funny guys that amuse me... plus, when they challenge you, they accept defeat nicely (JOKING!!). anyway, just wondering if this is the sort of thing you have to control yourself or if it can hit a point when a mod steps in. i don't need a mod, i handled it through his clan leadership (eventually), which is how i thought it should be done. but what about people that are more fragile than myself, that this sort of thing might truly affect them and cause them CC related anxiety? ha...-0

Don't take the bait. If you retaliate outside FW, they sound like the types that would run to a mod with your PM crying all like a doe eyed little girl with pig tails in the polka dot dress.... not worth the agrivation. Your a witty guy, take it to FW.

i refrained from rating him at all, because i wasn't impressed with his play and he missed a turn while playing for his partner. if you can't say anything nice... anyway, the new system prevents you from retaliatory feedback after it is shown. you can however, remove ratings, which i asked the abusive member to do... but, i was told to GFY or in mod edit terms <<mod edit: go with god's love up thine own backside: mod edit>>...-0

even better, i am on his foe list, and he has accused me of deleting the game chat in question, because he can't see it.. hmmm... foe list... not being able to read chat in the game by me... hmmm... maybe he can figure that one out after he reads the PM i sent him explaining how the foe list prevents you from reading the game chat/posts of those on your list... wow.. this guy is truly amazing.-0

If you receive extreme abusive PM's, you can always file a Report in the Cheating and Abuse forum, and a Mod/Admin will look into it.

it has now ended with this gem... nice to have a clan leader step in and squash something, that obviously needs to be squashed. no need for mods or admins when you have good clan leaders:
