And now, for the rest of the story. I know a number of you will rejoice over this news and
celebrate. An even greater number will be as shocked as I was when I heard this news. Due to
my change in behavior caused by the Lyme's and narcotics, I am being forced to step down as mod
here. This decision, like many on CC, was made without even talking to me, and my fate sealed
before even hearing my explanation, with no option for appeal. Those of you wrongly busted as
multis know how I feel; it's quite shocking to be tried and convicted without your knowledge,
especially when lack himself had promised in a paid contract to give warning (hmm breach of
contract anyone?). When I finally got to plead my case they didn't care I was "under the
influence" of the bacteria in my brain and the narcotics I was taking for quite a long period
of time. Every reason they gave for wanting me gone, I could say "no that's not true" to,
although when I attempted to, they said "don't argue." Like I'm supposed to sit there and let
twill 'conveniently forget' entire conversations with me in an attempt to make me look bad?
Like I'm supposed to sit there and not defend myself against untrue accusations made up as they
went along? Sorry, I'm not one to sit idly by and keep my mouth shut, no matter how much they
pleaded with me to go quietly.
The story they're going to come out with is I didn't play well with others, especially with
twill, who prefers people blindly follow him instead of question his ideas when they might not
be the best thing for the site. Part of that is true, but mostly it was the lyme's talking.
In real life I get along with everyone everywhere, but when Lyme's took over, that little guy
in my head that stops me from saying those things I'll regret was overcome with the disease.
If I could have moved my foot, it would have stayed stuck in my mouth for the duration.
They'll come out with "oh she was like that before with twill", when in fact he came back right
around the time I initially got sick, so their "before" is 2006 when we actually did get along.
It was quite comical seeing them make up reasons as they went along.
You see I didn't always agree with twill or how he was running things, and I'd let him know and
offer a better solution. I'd get frustrated at how inefficiently he was running things and
would let that show through, more than was necessary due to my state of mind from the Lyme's.
Here's a perfect example... I've always been an advocate for Live Chat, as it's a fun place to
hang out, as the regulars there know. Unfortunately, Chat isn't a priority for any admin, so
often falls by the wayside. The issue though is moreso than anywhere else on this site (other
than the site or game being down), chat needs the quickest response because our tools in there
don't work to keep people out. So I'd ask admin to streamline the processes to enable that
much-needed quick response, but they refused. Typical admin response was 3+ days for urgent
requests. When someone's trolling chat or the forums, and quick action is needed, that's just
not acceptable. I brought this up time and time again with no response. So I jumped up and
down, still no response. So I jumped up and down and screamed... finally a response. Admin
response decreased to 2-2.5 days now for urgent requests. oooh progress. Is it good enough
now? Not even close. Did I take one for the team in order to get something done? Yep and I
would have done it again, for the good of the site. Communication is severely lacking between
mods and admins, something I tried hard to rectify to no avail. I even requested a special
subforum for communication/information dissemination purposes; it was set up but rarely used
except by me.
I'm telling you all this to give you just a glimpse of how inefficiently this place is run with
twill in charge. There's a reason he's called twilldon't. Sure he has some good ideas at
times, but his head is in the clouds with grand illusions of bettering the world from the
internet, not where it should be in making CC run efficiently, which is what he's paid for. Oh
but he's not the only one, inefficiency here starts at the top. Not only is twill holding this
site back from growing to it's full potential, so is lack. Just ask anyone who's tried to help
him with coding additions to the site. Just look at his lack of "frequent sweet updates" he
promised when he started doing this full time. Several qualified programmers have offered their
services, but find it hard to work with lack's inefficient coding ways. There's a reason he's
called "lack". Well perhaps with both moz and my departures, he can take what he was paying us
and put it towards hiring a coder and maybe actually let up on some of the possessiveness and
let that person work.
Unfortunately neither lack nor twill is experienced enough to know how to run a business well,
and as such the site suffers. I've seen it firsthand, you all have seen it as well, and it's
frustrating to say the least. When I mentioned, as an example, that my real job couldn't fire
me for what happened when I was ill (I'm protected by the Family & Medical Leave Act), I was
reminded this wasn't a business and I wasn't an employee (even though I was paid). So true
indeed. A real business would have customers first and would know how to restructure and
manage people to keep them happy and productive. None of that happens here.
At the end of the day, it's still lack's website and at the end of the day, twill still
manipulates lack for the ultimate power trip (pssst.. dude it's an online game site). Lack is
too busy with real life and bored with this site to care. You, as a community, need to hold
twill accountable and keep him grounded, because unfortunately no one else is. I lost all
respect for twill long ago, and most recently for the other admins as well. Twill's a control
freak with a supersized ego and I'm sick of dealing with him. He's slowly gotten rid of all
the original staff who'd hold him accountable, because we knew him back when he was more humble
and would listen. Now he's surrounded himself with "yes" men, who I'm sure will be on here to
defend him. All I'll say is, give it some time; you haven't worked with him long enough to
see. To see how he changes what he says just to appease who he's talking to, whether it's what
he's thinking or not. I received PM after PM of totally conflicting stances by twill. You
thought *I* was inconsistent? Well at least I had an excuse, being diseased and drugged at the
time; what's his? So I challenge all the mods, and all the site, to question authority because
the "authority" here is a waffling two-faced idiot. When twill does something out of line, PM
lack. Make lack pay attention and hold twill accountable.
Unfortunately, for you, the members here, this site is slowly being over-run by trolls. I was
constantly sweeping this place of the resident trolls and repeat offenders who create new
almost undetectable accounts daily (which is quite easy to do BTW). In looking over the forums
today, I can spot several that have gone undetected for about a week now, with more coming on
daily. Have fun with that.
As for me, well I still love to hang out with my live chat buds, so unless they kick me out for
speaking the truth, I'll still be there, and happy to truthfully answer any questions you may
have. I might also check out that other forum, and speak openly there as well. This
experience had been quite liberating for me. It feels great to finally be able to talk freely.
I know this will come across as a disgruntled former employee; what it really is is someone
finally speaking up from within about the many problems with how this site is run. I've talked
with several current and future mods in the process of writing this, and they share my concerns
I've posted here. One even gave me the quote for my sig about twill, completely unprompted.
So there you have it. If me stepping down is the reason you need to get things done twill, then I'm
willing to do that for the good of CC. However, now you can't blame everything on me anymore.
now if they would just take away the bitch noflood's mod powers, i'd never get booted out of chat.
