Longest non-build/stalemate game?

Like, the longest game you've played with actual action. Where you don't sit down and stock up troops. Purposefully or non-purposefully.

Mine :P

Any takers to beat it?

I think this game is the current record holder for the longest game.

Game 240959

However, there is lots of games which has continued over 100 rounds

You're misunderstanding me here.

Not games that you build troops in, whether you started the game intending too, or not.

Games where you're constantly fighting your opponents, breaking their bonuses, them breaking yours, etc.

Nice wakka ^^

This game, if you could call it that... it's more of an ordeal, or a frikkin nightmare, if you will.

Anyhow, back on topic...

This game has been in a balanced state for ages, none of us get enough armies to tip it far enough to secure a stronger position.

Game 2030052

Those borders used to have about 20 armies each. I don't want it to build up. I'm considering throwing it so I don't lose massive points. I've gone up 400 points since I joined this damned game.

doesn't a game have to stalemate some to last very long at all?

I thought my longest would be Game 950755 with oVo on France, but I guess it just seemed longer because there were 6 players and it lasted more time. It went 188 rounds.
I made Game 1487270 for some clan mates when the Malta map was released. 263 rounds of solid fighting.

I was surprised that a "smaller map" game could go on for so long and that one with BaldAdonis (s dean. ueli & a few others) was my longest by far until this one on the Italia map went 297 rounds. Both were very competitive games with every player barely eluding elimination many times over the course of play.

i think i played a game that went into round 55 or so with 3 players on 2.1 a while back.

surprisingly, we played like 40 of those rounds rt.... which took like... i guess 6 or 7 hours straight

that was the first one I thought of..it's not much, but it's shaping up to be pretty epic.

that's my longest running right now though.

OP wants non-build games. If you're not attacking every round (or so), then you're in a build game.
*edit* And not just taking a singleton for a card. The breaking bonuses kind of attacking.

Game 551925 would probably be my longest. Although, sections of it were "build"-ish in nature.

It has lasted so many rounds and it has been a what you call "build game" but never long times. There was a lot of action in the total of the game and for me it was not a build game at all but a very interesting one.
I was just very patient, and had the most nerve :)

Exactly :)

These types of games tend to be the most difficult. You have to plan long-term, not short term, thinking in terms of in 5-6 rounds I'll be doing this, and I will have this. My opponents, barring unexpected advances, should be doing this, etc.

They're also the most interesting for me. If you're careful in how to attack, you can gain sudden advantages that, if not win the game, can put you in a dominant position.

Green, in my game, about 20-30 rounds back, was just down to 3 terits, in Scandinavia <_< He broke through and grabbed NA at the same time I made a sudden move for africa, which put me out of a bonus there, and also nearly eliminated yellow while he was holding africa. Blue steadily expanded through Asia with resistance from us... It's been quite the game. Now green, having taken europe in the past few rounds, is now competing with me, while blue retreated due to us concentrating on the troop leader.

yeti_c, oVo, BaldAdonis, those are nice. I'm hoping to have some games like that, they seem to be what keeps me coming back to the site. A few games here and there, while fun, don't hold my attention as well as games like those.

I'm about to win the longest running Italy game :P
http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=1567396
There were some slow parts in it, though... But it's really crazy how you can go down and up again in a game like that. I've been down to 3 one-ers in that game... TWICE.

The points will comfort me and reward my patience ;)

Game 1999377

Here's one currently in its 135th round. Rarely has any territory ever had 20 armies on and when so those have been used for an attack. Started at 5 player but has been 3 for the past 95 rounds.

Wow... hard to tell who has the edge with so many armies on the map
and it's a no carder too.
