Callout's is useless. (serious post this time)

I play a lot of rt's and speed games, and I never find players in callouts. Nobody goes in there except 920 points privates who can't get into a game because the suck. All the people are in social, but if you mention your game in there then you get bitched at. I find players by pm. I wish it would go back to the old way where there was just one chat, and you could advertise in there. I'm quite serious about this, callouts really does seem worthless.

This seems like a personal problem.

Most higher ranks just PM each other. Sometimes it can get old real fast. Plus side is that we can now PM multiple people all at once. Normally if people are not in Callouts, I just tap on their name and send them a little note while in Live Chat to see if they are interested. This way I'm not doing a callout in social.

When we had the old chat system, people used to post their games over and over and over and it got very annoying. I like that when I go to Social now I can chat and not have people posting games the whole time.

ps. you can always PM me George and I promise I won't yell at you again lol

To find RT's a good place is Live Chat.

Callouts work great for non RT games, at least i think so.

i agree George, i understand why its necessary to be the way that it is. but even in the old days in chat, most of the good rt's came from pm's. thats just the way it is, its the most efficient. you can choose who you want, and ignore the turds.

or maybe we just need 3 chat rooms, #social, #callouts, #nonfreemiumcallouts.

Although I'm not in chat that much, it doesn't affect me but when I am- it's quite silly for them to make such a big deal out of it. It's one thing like H2 said about posting and advertising their games in Social. Making conversation with another player about potentially playing a game is entirely a different story.

I don't think it's a problem to have Callouts in a separate tab- I do however if they make an ordeal out of it when it's just conversation about said game. They shouldn't be so strict IMO. Quite ridiculous.

If people have possible productive suggestions they will be listened to. We just need to make sure the needs of both chatters and players are met in as smooth and as unintrusive ways as possible.

you can still be in chat and know when games are being set up in callouts. just watch for the blinking "Callouts" tab that tells you that people are talking in callouts. then you know to leave social and set up a game.

people who are in social, and not in callouts, are so because they are not looking for a game. Why should you be bothered with games, if you don't want to play one? Everyone who would possibly be interested in your game, should be in callouts.

Absolutely.

We should have an Officers Club, a Sergents Mess , a Corporals Mess, and just leave the mess for the proles, let them clear it up.

i think the big issue here is that there is a difference between a respected player casually asking if anyone is interested in a game, and some freemium troll spamming a game number with password 50 times.

i dont think that george wants to turn social into callouts. it just sux when you get booted or reprimanded for asking. if someone says their interested a respectable player isnt going to fill social with the particulars, theyre gonna shoot a pm to the person to finalize the deal.

and yeah, i know its a fine line to walk. however im sure any chat mods would be able to acknowledge the difference in behaviour between the players that simply ask socially, and those that spam up the chat with it, which is the point of the rule right?

Which is the reason they are there- to moderate and use their best judgment on what is spam and what isn't.

When i'm in social, I don't want to be asked for games. If I want to play a game, I go to callouts--that's what it's there for. There's a reason that there's less people in callouts: Callouts only includes the people who want to play a game. Social includes both people who do want to play, and those who don't. You gain no advantage if you can call out in social--sure, you reach more people, but none of those extra people want to play! If they did, they'd be in callouts!

You're missing the point- players only ask ones that they know.. for instance George would never approach you because he doesn't know you. And he's a point snob- you're too low for is liking.

well, even if he's looking for someone specific. The person he's asking is much more likely to say "yes" if they're in callouts. Being present in Callouts implies you're available and willing for a game, being absent in Callouts implies you're not.
