If CC is going to have a rating system then...

They need to make it worth while.. Right now as it stand anybody can leave you all 1's and get away with it. I am not saying that it is 100% trash, but there are people who abuse it without worry. They know CC will sit on the sidelines why they abuse the system. I am saying CC should punish the people who abuse the system. I am sure they can stop people from leaving all 1's after they get beat in a game. Case in point. I just got all 1's and the slow tag after my team won a quads game vs him. He missed 50% of the game seeing as it was only 4 rounds long and he missed 2 rounds. I left him the deadbeat tag as with him missing his team had no chance at all. Now over time as they say this will even out. Fine and dandy, but what about the players who do not play many games. Like my friend who has played about 30 total games. He went from a 4.9 to a 4.4 in 1 game which we crushed the other team. All of this because people want to abuse the system. CC needs to step up to the plate and start dishing out punishment for people like this. Otherwise this system is more unless than it already is. Just like the old days when leaving too many wrongful negs, could cause you to lose your feedback posting ability. The same needs to be looked at here. I am fairly sure many of these abusers are under 18. The ones who you click on and they leave 1's for everybody, or totally random numbers. Like lets just click these , and this tag. Maybe when you leave feedback they need to ask you are you sure you wish to leave all 1's. Now sure people can look at the numbers for themselves, and I am sure many do. This system is just such a waste still even after it has been revamped. Why even bother! CC would be better off just scrapping it all and having no feedback at all. Afterall we are here for the game anyhow.

OK Rant over... Debate away.

The powers that be are happy for these one star ratings to occur as it slowly brings the 'average' rating down to a nice, sanitized, homogenous, one size fits all level.

There has been much discussion about this Bruce old chap....to little avail.

why do you just assume its kids under 18 doing it?

maybe its a bunch of geriatrics who are getting a kick out of finally having the youngsters pay attention to something they do

the problem is, CC wants a system to give the mods less work and responsibilities. so they put this system in place. I agree with you, im getting alot of BS ratings too. Im getting deadbeat for no missed turns. poor attitute when I said nothing in chat. sore loser, when I won the game. bad teamate when I wasnt on his team. suicide attack when I took my opponent out on an assassin game. and the list goes on.

you will get no result from this because they feel the ratings will average out over time. Persoanally, I dont like "deadbeat" next to my name when I dint miss a turn and you click on my account and see 100% turns taken.

well, i read ratings for players, and when I see someone gave ones, they go on the ignore list... eventually it will average out, but as always, there will be those that have to mess it up for everyone. All we can do is, let everyone know who they are.

There are two other options

1.) If you could care less about the rating system and just want to play the game without worrying about the ranks, point totals, medals and ratings...none of the current bs will bother you. (this is where I am now)

2.) consider the source....take the time for due diligence if you are considering any action with a player you dont know. Look at who left bad feedback (as I do)and judge for yourself whether the player has a valid reason for panning another player. I usually disregard any feedback or ratings left by freemiums or low ranks, not because I am better than them, rather their opinions are not properly seasoned. For instance, I got a bad rating from a question mark, I pm'd him to ask why...his response? because I was the first eliminated so I must suck. Yeah buddy thats it....not because the 3 question marks in the game were rank hunting in terminator. FOE LISTED !! ( I still dont care about the bs, but I do believe strongly in punishing stupidity)

What may smack of elitism, has some merit...when I see a new recruit or any low rank, I always give the benefit of the doubt if they want to play, but I dont take their opinions on known players. I look at the real feedback...we all know who are the regular competitors, what they say about you is to be considered.

tbh- does it really matter ? Only valid point I've heard being discussed is the one Jim made about being able to leave written feedback (positive ones) for your fellow CC friends. Other than that- I don't see the need to beat a dead horse.

The dead horse has been beaten many times. The tags just add a new factor to more abuse. I agree about written feedback. We need it if this is going to work at all.

They didnt want retaliation which happenned a lot with feedbacks.

But they had to go through all these hoops to bring a rating system, that sucked, only to modify it again, and it still sucks.

Couldnt they figure out that if they didnt want retaliation, all they had to do was to PREVENT RETALIATION by using the SAME method they are using NOW: which is that ratings/feedback CANNOT be left/modified/retaliated and ONLY appears once the game is archived....

The feedback system wouldve been sweet with this simple modification, but NO, they had to change it all too.

(players mad at the neg received had the option to leave a note.
It was awesome.
STOP looking too far CC when you had the best solution right under your nose.

never have truer words been written... what seemed to be the solution, to a system that was not really broken, has caused more of a problem...-0

Being fairly new here I am getting to grips with everything, and I have not yet left a rating. There are two reasons. Firstly, in my eyes, 3 stars is an average (1 awful, 2 bad, 3 average, 4 good, 5 excellent) but everyone seems to give 5 stars as an average, and I don't want to annoy anyone.

Secondly, how can you give a "top" rating to someone who just plays the game? Someone who doesn't talk in game chat, but doesn't do anything bad as far as the game is concerned? I've received at least four 5-star ratings, but I doubted I would even be rated. I was just playing the game to have fun. Not to socialize, just to play.

In my opinion the system should be changed back to something similar to the feedback system. In fact, the only differences would be (as suggested above) no retaliations, and a sort of generic rating - thumbs-up or thumbs-down. Everybody's "Feedback Rating" would start at 0, and for every thumbs-up they would get +1 point, and -1 for every thumbs-down. At a glance, this would show the general opinion of the player, as more people would have to register -down than -up for the player to get a negative rating, rather than a couple of people deciding to screw the system and hand out 1s. You might say this is unfair to New Recruits, who would start off at 0 compared to the high-scores of other players, but as long as they were enjoyable opponents, their score would quickly climb.

They're my thoughts, anyway.
