Which forum should this go in?

I'm going to start a thread about the (please don't attack me) dice.

It will be a statistical analysis of the dice. It will involve players reserving a post in the thread, and updating that post with their latest stats from Dice Analyser whenever they get round to it. I will regularly update the first post with the total sum of all the dice (attacking and defending), as well as have a list of who has the best and worst dice, showing how many standard deviations they are away from the mean.

I am not a dice skeptic (see my posts in the Dice Complaints merged thread), I firmly believe in the random and equal distribution of the dice, and am sick and tired of all the BS that is spouted about the dice on this site. I want to do this to provide conclusive statistical evidence that the dice tend towards normal distribution.

All I need to know is what forum this should go in:

General: seems the sensible choice
Plugins: may be an option, as it relies on Dice Analyser plugin
Flame Wars: for obvious reasons

I would say GD or Sugs/Bugs.

I would also say that I would whole-heartedly support stickying your thread.

GenDis does sound right, I'll give this another few hours, then formulate the post.

I'm thinking rules along the lines of:
  • One post per person, with their post being updated with their latest stats, instead of posting new stats in new posts
  • First post has a total of all stats, and a list of all submitting players, sorted according to how many Standard Deviations they are from the Mean
  • Try to discourage general discussion on the thread itself, to reduce the clutter I'd have to scroll through in order to compile the stats.

I assume you mean every minute update it. Well, like most inferior hu-mans, I need sleep :P There's no need for it to have volatile updating anyhow, it's more of a proof that normal distribution occurs.

Actually, it could go in Sugs/Bugs because the auto-text for a new post states:
Sugs&Bugs wrote:The dice ARE random, lots and lots of analysis has been done on them both internally and by community members.

This thread would just lend credibility to the statement.

If I sticky the thread, it might end up getting unstickied if Twill doesn't want it there. Just a heads up.

It's pretty apparent that I'm not a mod, but I feel this would fit best in GD. It may be good evidence towards the disclaimer in the suggs & bugs forum,It will be neither a suggestion, nor a bug report, and it will deal with cc-specific issues. I will, gladly, provide my stats, which are currently above 230k attacking dice, and 120k defending dice.
