Foe before you play...Fair?

Just lately i have found that if i see a player that has a rating of under 4.0,i automatically put them on my foe list, even if i have not played them yet!
In my mind i am thinking "Rather than let them join one my games & find out the hard way why they have such a low rating & whether they deserve it or not,i nip it in the bud & stop the trouble before it starts so to speak & foe them"
However, part of me tells me that maybe i am being a little unfair, after all, everyone has their own opinion on Gameplay, attitude & fair play dont they.Is it not a little like finding someone guilty before seing all the evidence for yourself?
So i was wondering what other players views were on this & if you think it is fair or not to foe a player before you have played them?

Depends... I've foed people because a clan mate said they were worth foeing. I wouldn't do it based on a rating though, as the rating system is a joke

It is entirely up to you how you use the 'foe' list. There is no right or wrong way. Some people might cry that you're being "unfair", but it's your list, not theirs.

I never foe people because of their rating. It never really shows how a player is. Most crap players and idiots got high ratings, and when I look closer they got them from other crap and idiot players, so if I'm gonna foe someone because of their rating it's gonna be if I see a lot of trustworthy and good players giving them bad ratings. I havn't done it yet, but someday I might... I mostly foe someone when I play them or see them play like shit in another game.

i never judge anyone based on their ratings because there are a lot of assholes out there that give all 1s for no reason
one of my dubs partners (demonfork) has a very low rating but ive never seen him do anything wrong
he is... passionate... but that is it
but if you want to foe them then go ahead
its your account and you can do what you want with it (within reason) which includes foeing people

WTF? A rating of 3 is average. Why foe people with ratings above that?

I think the Foe option is grossly abused and it should be a 2 way street. How many times someone has Foe'd Player X yet joined one of Player X's games. This is a bad feature of the Foe list.If you Foe someone you should not be able to join a game they are in yet you can if they have not Foe'd you.How does this work, believe me people do this all the time.

I, personally, wait to play a game with someone before foeing them. However: if someone spams my wall, swears in my games etc they go on "The List"

regardless.

A 3 is SUPPOSED to be average. The average rating is much much higher than that as I'm sure you know.
The rating system would only be effective if you were required to average out the ratings you leave.

Certainly not.
Ialways enjoy checking a player's ratings just as a speed game is getting started. I don't really look at the number, but rather the tags. Countless 'suicider', 'irrational', or 'bully' tags on a player and I think to myself 'well this should be interesting' and attempt to adjust my play accordingly.
I would hazard a guess that a fair amount of all foeings are based on someone losing to a player and than calling "Cheat!!!", which is undoubtably easier to accept than the fact that the guy just out-played you.
But foeing based on a number compliled from a far from objective sample of people? If most people can agree that the current rating system is of fairly limited value (though the tags have improved it beyond almost pointless value), then foeing based on such a system would seem to be illogical.
