This question came to me in a game I am playing right now. I know that secret diplomacy is forbidden. What about coordinating a strategy with you ally? I mean, the other players now we have an alliance. Do they also need to know our plans? That doesn't make much sense.

All communication regarding an alliance in a game must be done in the Game Chat area.
