Retiring TeamCC members

Postby Twill on Mon Oct 13, 2008 11:25 am

It's my sad duty to inform you all that two members of TeamCC have retired from active duty.

As of today, Optimus Prime and Rebelman have ceased to wear their colours.

Rebelman slowed down his commitment a few months ago as real life began to demand his time and despite a valiant effort to balance work and more work, he has decided that CC is not the right place for him to be right now. Reb was one of our long standing chat mods, and someone always pushing us to improve wherever we could. He was a true asset to the team.

Optimus Prime, who was a Tournament Director who saw the Tournaments go from 20-30 running at a time to well over a hundred running at a time. His family needs him more these days and so he is stepping back from his official role on the team, but has said plans to keep running tournaments as a regular member - OP has organized more tournaments than anyone else.

Gentlemen, it has been a pleasure. Thank you for volunteering your time and everything you have done to make this community what it is!

Are these 2 going to be the 2nd and 3rd people to receive the "special contribution" medal? I can't say much about rebelman, as I don't know much about him, but Opie is highly deserving of the CC gold watch.

Agreed to Tim, Optimus has done a lot to this site, I'd say a lot more than anybody else (or perhaps everybody together) in the tournament forums and his way and style should be example to many of us.

Great work, both of you! =D> =D>

I also agree, Prime is one of the most deserving of that medal on the site for all the work he put into the tournament forums!

Good luck to you both!

I didn't think we were going to lose them. The decision had already been made well before that.

I hope not. Everyone with that has been fired.

Of course I kid. they both deserve it

OP we dont always see eye to eye but you have been a great tourney director
rebel a mighty fine untouchable (if not technically but a part of our history) and a great guy in the bargain.

I don't usually post outside of the tourney forum, but I'll make an exception here for OP. The tournament system is the best part of the city and a large part of that is due to Optimus Prime. Thank you =D>

thanks all, i hope to still stay around as an ordinary member and (bad) player. It has been fun being part of team cc and playing an active role especially in chat. OP is now and always shall be a legend on this site. RL has to get the nod over cc right now but if anyone wants to contact me (eg. to take some of the few pts. I have left) you can find me on msn or skype or alternativly you can fire me a pm
Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.
