If i kill one person in an 8 player terminator game that I end up winning do I get 8 towards the medal or only the one for the kill i got?

Just the kill that you got.

You only get 7...there are only 7 other people in the game.

thats what i meant... my question was though do I only get the one kill for the person I eliminated or do I get all 7 of the other kills?

You get all seven. It just counts whether you "won" or not. So even though the points are assigned on a per-kill basis, the medals aren't. (I personally think it shouldn't be this way, but apparently it would be very very complicated to fix).

Members may be awarded several types of medals. They are listed on the Medals page.

Game Achievement medals that are based on defeating unique opponents only consider players in games that you've won. Eliminating an opponent in a Terminator game will not count towards the Terminator Achievement if you ultimately lose the game.

This is not explicitly stated, but the winner gets all the kills.
