no classic, see ya

my last "classic" game is done, and I haven't seen any movement on this problem, so, I'm outta here. thanks to all the players and special thanks to those who run this site, it's been fun. but, if there's no classic, I can't see any reason to play here.

if anything resembling a classic map ever returns, feel free to email me and let me know.

thanks.

Look, you can leave for whatever reason you want. No one is stopping you, and I certainly won't be the one to tell you how to enjoy the site. But I want the rest of you who read this to remember that there is so much more to this site than the Classic map, and I implore you to try and enjoy the other parts. Sure, the Classic map was great. It was the map that I played the majority of my games on. But with... what... 99 other maps, I'm sure you can find at least one that you would enjoy just as much, maybe more. So, try jumping into the forums if all you do is play games. There is a bounty of great personalities on this site. And though you have to wade through some BS to find some of them, the ends certainly justify the means when you find some of the classic posts that are made right here in our wonderful little community.

If you feel the need to abandon ship, then, by all means, do so. I, for one, will be taking an extended break for personal reasons, but I'm certainly not bailing out because one map bit the dust.

I'd still like to know why it's absolutely no problem playing the Classic map on other sites. (Land Grab and Grand Strategy to name two.) I mean their Classics are identical to the board we all know. (They're also way nicer than what we had here, but that's beside the point. :D )

Quite likely because both of those sites are not nearly big enough to have scrutiny brought upon them. Or, because they didn't have a disgruntled member who probably brought scrutiny upon them, or because maybe they don't charge for a premium membership (I have no clue I've never visited either site), or a plethora of other reasons.

Perhaps we should approach Grand Strategy (or vice versa), check out this thumbnail of their Asia map.

Their overall layout is also very similar, up to the player colours for dubs.

Sentinal is righter than socialism! I thought my life was over without the classic map; I found some razor blades in the kitchen, borrowed a rope and some gasoline from my friend (who wished me well) and I was just about to slash my wrists, throw the gasoline around and set fire to the sofa when I thought, hang on there are 99 other maps on CC - let's have a bash at Canada...

Now I became as weak at the knees as any man here when I saw what the classic map had turned into. I hollered, I cried and I shook my fist at God (Lack in this case). I implored him to have pity and show mercy or stump up the royalty (either fine with me) fees and in general muttered dire warnings of consequences.

But, and I hate to be controversial here, I quite like the new classic map now. Not as much as cheese, fags, weed, red wine, girls, k, e, driving fast, riding motorbikes, trees, pandas or The Bullet Proof Bandits (oh yeah, rock on!), but I still like it. I like it more than Gordon Brown for example, or bread I have to slice myself.

ok to everyone mad about the classic map get over it yes it was a good map yeah i want it back but to bad
the classic map is not even close to the best map on this site if you want classic play the board game
other better maps give better game play and are just more fun and separate CC for boring risk
and besides all that the best part of CC is the people and games not maps

Way to make yourself sound like a total moron in a thread that so far has contained a relative amount of intelligence.

Now, motorbikes and pandas I can just about understand, but trees and The Bpb? Man you are sick. There must be some sort of law covering this.

Stephen is the type of person I could see dying in real life and my first thought would be that society is better off. No internet humor, that's just the impression I get.

I wouldn’t go as far to say as see you, but I would like to I see a much improved Classic map. I need to put some thought into it before I renew my Premium. I mean all they had to do was change a few names and the shape of the borders. What they actually did was completely destroy any resemblance to the original.
We see companies copy original designs across the board with regards to clothing, electrical goods and anything marketable.
What CC has done is spend as little time as possible to resolve a problem that needs a lot more time and effort put into a very profitable map.

Good Luck with it Lackattack.
