Multis

In theory, there'd be nothing wrong with having a multi as long as the only games he ever plays in are team games, on the same team as you. Because secret diplomacy is allowed, and the points are split across the whole team so suiciding doesn't do anything.

Obviously a controversial issue, but nevertheless, already been done. Sorry to bust your balloon,

This is not the only reason mutis are not allowed.
Primarily they were forbidden in order to prevent Freemiums from avoiding the 4-game cap.

Good point. But even still, in theory it would be OK if less than four total games were used at any given time by the multis.

keep trying to justify your cheating. it is against the rules and never ok. pony up the money for premium, and stop looking for loopholes... however, i would keep an eye out for sully... multi.-0

The largest issue with multis is that they don't join team games, they join standard games and play as a team.
Some people worry about them taking the points from one to the other but personally that's a distant second.

Not really true. I know of some multis that never played non-team games with each other. I think that the main point is to keep them down to 4 games, and if they want to go over that, then they have to pay. Just my opinion though,

A bit of good PR and any fool believes this Multi nonsense is cheating. Its only cheating the owner of CC out of a potential $25. As far as cheating within the game is concerned. Its clearly not,as it perfectly legal to borrow a friends ID and play his turns for him.

Multi's aren't illegal; just keep making them, don't gain a "significant" amount of points with the double-teaming, and when you get caught, choose to keep the better account and pay $25 to get your premium back; easiest rule to find loop-holes ever.

Which theory?

What cheating ?
Kotaro wrote:Multi's aren't illegal; just keep making them
Which legality?
Surely
cheating/illegality is breaking the rules? Any and every game is defined by its own rules. And the rules relevant to this particular game include:
Rule #1 No Multiple Accounts. They are strictly forbidden whether or not they play in the same games.
And for emphasis I think 'multiple' means 'more than one' in this context. Whether I sign up directly for three myself or 'borrow' a couple from friends.

Makes me wonder exactly how many of the top players (or all players) have used a multi. I wonder how many cooks and cadets are multis. Too bad many on the first scoreboard page have sullied the ranks by farming and multis ; is rank that much of a status symbol?

This has nothing to do with avoiding paying for premium. Say for example you have two players under your control, A and B. As long as
number of games A + the number of games B in
never exceeds 4, then you aren't using more game slots than you would be allowed under free member one account. And if you only play doubles games on the same team, since it's a doubles secret diplomacy is allowed. So you aren't breaking the spirit of any rule, or trying to get around any restrictions. You are just playing the game.

When you signed up you checked a box for " I will only have one account". Therefore, signing up more than once means you checked that box more than one time. Following simple logic, you come to the conclusion that you are breaking the rules. Breaking the rules gets you busted. Don't sign up more than once, plain and simple.

Multiple people on one computer are fine. The same person claiming to be multiple people isn't.
The hunters do a pretty good job of determining if it's the same person using both accounts or different people using the same computer.

Most of the time, although occasionally you get banned, then have to get yourself unbanned via e-tickets. Two of my friends (well, one friend, and his brother) had that problem. The routine scanning for multi's kicked them out, but as far as I know, they have not had problems since the e-ticket.

Someone doesn't understand THE RULES.
It doesn't matter how you interpret the "spirit of the rule", you are wrong - plain and simple - if you sign up for more than one account (regardless of how you use the accounts)

hay, how come this thread hasn't been locked yet. Must be because it's boring, if it was something interesting, where we could poke fun at max, or religion, then it would have been locked by now. Can you guys just lock this one because it sucks.
p.s. Can you also post updates as to your progress toward locking it. : ) I love that threat, much better than this one.

Because it's on topic.
How about updates on how close you are to a warning for spamming? I like that one a lot more

thats perfectly legal while one person with a multiple personality isnt
multiple players on one home are watched carefully, and typically the cheaters are found out, and the innocent...while sometimes burdened, are typically free
