how to beat a farmer

Im assuming a farmer game is an 8 player assassin game that is played on a detailed map such as Waterloo. Its quite simple, when you see a game like this started by a high rank that you feel is trying to collect points, get 6 of your buddies to join that and only attack the high rank. Yes, it is assassin and your attacking the wrong target, but atleast the high rank does not win. Do it in every game that is started. The high rank will get tired of losing points and stop playing that type.

People like lt.pie are only trying to get their Assassin and Terminator medals. Oh, that's right, he has already got all his medals by now, but he's still starting the same Waterloo games over and over. How awkward.

get your buddies and join his games and team vs him. so you lose points and get a bad rating for it but your atleast doing something about it and not whining on the forum about it.

i believe your definition of farming is to narrow
a farming games is game with ether a team with all high rank players vs some cooks and privets
or it is just a high rank playing a 2 player game with a new recruit
these take up almost all the join game pages and there no way to win them

so a triples/quads game started by high ranks is an auto farm game if low ranks join it? If so, get your buddies like I stated and join the game. And how does a 2 player game fill the join game section? Your only waiting for 1 player to join it. I think you need to research your beliefs a little bit more.

game finder tells me there are only 390 two player games available.

yes all those games are farming games becase its teams of high rank players that start the game with the intension of playing low ranks if they wanted to play there own skill level they can put something in call outs
and your friends cant help you in a team game unless your friend is sjnap

Ummmmm....farming. How about if someone of the rank of, say brigadier, joins a few games started by '?'s. Is that farming Johnny.

I play team games and lately many teams have joined against us with good players. I do not mind and at all and welcome it. Bring it on. I look forward to a good battle. With many team players out there there is always a good battle to be had if you want it.

So an unannounced aliance? Isn't that against the rules?

But as was said earlier, your def of farming is too narrow.

However, people will always abuse any system. The real solution is to play your best and let the points take care of themselves. Or, if you truly have Conquerer aspirations, then just play team games with your friends.

(and if you don't have CC friends who want to and can play teams, as many of us don't ... oh well).

no- the key word was "few". there is no problem joining a few games vs low ranks. Now if every game was played that way, *cough, cough* Max, than I would say thats an issue.

I have had many players over 2,500 points recently join my games and have won most of them. well, like 70%. I have also joined about 5 team tourneys that Blitz has hosted. Dint do very well, but I joined.

I don't specifically care about "farming" , points really don't matter much to me.

But, I might like to try some team games ... only I get tired of seeing the same set of Briagdiers and Majors all together, particularly for quads.

Unless you happen to KNOW people who are also available ... this is a problem.

yes, I started those few games months ago when I needed my assassin medal. When I first started trying to get the medal I played 3 player games. It was taking too long and alot of players dont know how to play them and I was taking cheap losses so I bumped it up to 8 player games. I used the map classic and only won a handful. So I moved on to a harder map which is what you have listed here and got the rest of my kills for my assassin gold. I havent played assassin since than which was 2 months ago. Than I saw King Herpes create a post where he was starting assassin game on the map waterloo and was only playing new recruits on purpose. He stated he would drop the game if a ranked player joined. Thank god I had my medals before that post was created. But yes, I played some of that type before it got out of control with some players.

nothing to really come clean about. I was trying to get my medals the fastest way and a bunch of low ranks joined those games. There were other games that I actually lost too that were not shown. Once I got the gold medal I stopped playing assassin games. Luckily it dint take alot of games. If you recall my score was 1,200 points at the time. So I wasnt even farming for points. But thanks for the support.

So we shouldn't start games with teammates we like playing with ?

This thread in its entirety confuses me. One person says if higher ranked players start team games, we're farming. One says if we join low ranked games, we're farming. So, basically, unless we play private games only, we're farming ? (And then we'll get the threads about how high ranked players only ever play other high ranked players...and a different cycle starts.)

I start a dozen doubles games every week...public games with my regular doubles partner. We have a decent win rate. Sometimes we play majors and colonels. Sometimes we play sergeants, corporals, or cadets. We never know who will join. A lower rank that joins will get a lot of points if they win. So be it. If they play well, they deserve it. Is that farming ? It seems like such a murky territory (like Kamchatka...er...A12).

So, unless I play only private games, it's farming ? Brak, I have to disagree. I think that's a pretty narrow view.

Lower ranks join my games all of the time. I guess everyone needs to put me on ignore if they are below a certain arbitrary level and I them, right ?

No.

I have no problem with you starting a game with your teammates. I have a minor issue if you all join a game I start, knowing full well that the only way we will beat you is pure luck. Its not about points, its about just having a reasonable shot, not being completely overwhelmed automatically.

BUT, I am not accusing anyone specifically of doing it. I am just saying it happens a lot and it is very frustrating, just does not seem very sportsmanlike.

Personally, I agree with you here. If a bunch of low ranks want to join your games .. fine, IF you don't belittle them, nag them for "not playing right" (as opposed to an absolutely friendly suggestion), etc. Particularly when it is newbies, not just lower ranked people .... I DO think we have a minor obligation to make sure that they get a halfway decent view of CC. (and I am not saying you do this, just saying that would be a problem). No, I am not saying we all have to be perfectly sunny people 100%... but I think new people do deserve our "better face".

Losing is part of that ... no problem, its the attitudes about it that sometimes give me an issue.

Also, there is a differance between starting a game that low rankers join and joining a game that has a lot of low rankers. (with the exception of some folks like myself who may look higher ranked once in a while, but really are not)
