Is there a way to opt for a consistent player colour for all games - e.g. I can be shown as red in every game I play?

Not yet, no. Perhaps in the future.

what if you play with someone whose default color is set to red too ?

You can opt to be red every game if you start the game.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the original question is "Can I always show as Red on my screen" as opposed to always necessarily being "the red player in the game"

Doesn't sound like a terrible idea to me, but I don't know what it entails on the programming side.

I get what you are saying. I play poker on line and always sit in the same chair--makes sense to me.

The only potential problem with this, is that people have a tendency to refer to others by color. This is more of a user issue, but I know that it is easier to remember the color from looking at the map quickly than it is to get the user's name based off of the color. Again, not a problem with implementation, just with how some users see the change.

Hmm, I don't see how this is the issue :| Maybe I'm not getting it

My impression of the post is that your interface always shows you as red, no matter when you joined. Others wouldn't see you as red, just you on your interface. These are the problems I can see with it:
  • Play order mistakes could be made by a user who assumes it goes red-green-blue-etc
  • Attack mistakes could be made in quads games if you are red, and on team 2
These are personal issues people would have to accept and address.

I think this is a great idea though, but it should be in Suggs and Bugs

Umm... You see yourself as red, and somebody in the chat is yelling "Blue! Cut it out! Green has a +50 bonus you can't see!" and you're blue, chances are, you're not gonna get the message...
