how disrespectful does a person need to be? how insolent? how much fun must be ruined? how much foul language? how low a rating? how frequently indignant at the prospect of losing? just how bad does a player have to be to get jailed/banned around here? how long must they be this way? i happened across someone who i'm sure many would agree, no longer deserves to play with the rest of the group. i won't say who i mean. you should be able to figure it out. i'm just encouraging mods here to take more seriously the affect certain players have on the integrity of CC.

People who prize proper etiquette don't need to force it down the throats of who don't. Just because someone may view something as inappropriate doesn't mean that the rest do. There's various levels of intolerance. If you can't handle it, quite simply, don't view chat. You already can leave them a rating. And of course, as already stated, if you're not retarded you can hit that "Add Foe" button (and I use the term retarded metaphorically as I'm sure there are many retarded people who could actually accomplish that feat).

Harassment Policy

"Trash-talking" can be a fun element of the game and we take a liberal stance on what is allowed to be said in game chat and in private messages. If one player offends another we generally do not want to get involved. However, in cases of extreme obscenity or extreme harassment (in our judgement) we may take disciplinary action against the offending member.

If you find yourself in a game with someone who offends you, simply add the member in question to your foes list and his/her comments will disappear from the game chat.

Is this thread an experiment in getting things locked? Because if so, it is amazing.

I haven't a clue who you are referring to... but if a player talks more bs than you can handle during a game, simply ADD THEM TO YOUR FOE LIST and you don't have to see the offending chat anymore. The other benefit would be never having them in your games from that point on.

If you think they have crossed the line consider starting a thread on the abuse forum.

Oh really? How many people have I attempted to get banned/in trouble for their beliefs? How many threads have I started for such a purpose? Enlighten me, as you are the accuser. There is a very large difference between voicing your opinions (however you choose to do so) on someone's idiocy and trying to get them banned from doing said actions. Never once have I tried to get a terrible player such as yourself banned from these games for the terrible moves you make.

It's the same thing with how I view gay marriage. You can think it's as wrong and legitimate as you want, and even protest the actions, but once you go and make it a law you've become intolerant. As long as you tolerate their actions, aka don't prohibit them from doing it, then there's no issue.

to really understand what i'm getting at here, you have to look beyond a few mere comments in a game. there are pm's, ratings, etc. look at the whole picture over the course of time.

its not important who provoked me to start this thread, but if you really can't figure it out, then you are quite possibly far too tolerant of the kind of person i mean. what reason could there possibly be for such hostility? it is not healthy to find enjoyment in that sort of things. have some respect for others, for yourselves. there are many ways to talk trash; they are not all equal, nor should they be perceived as such. redraw the line.
