I was rating someone after a game. I put 5 stars for his Attitude, and 5 for the other one too, but I left the Gameplay blank. The fact is that it was a Fog of War game with 6 players, and I didn't see any of his gameplay, so didn't think it fair to rate.

Now he's contacted me, curious as to why I've damaged his ratings for no good reason.
Just to clarify - I thought if you leave somethig at 0, then you're not rating. That's what happened with all the people I haven't rated at all. If I leave it at 0 when I rate other things, am I in fact seriously criticising their skills??

If so, is there any way I can edit my score on GreenBaize and give him an apologetic 5 stars for Gameplay? He was very nice and polite when he asked me what I'd give such a low score.

If you leave a "0" rating, it's not really a 0. It is exactly as you said, you're not rating him at all. Your non-rating does not affect his average because you are not a part of that average.

You can rest assured that you did not impact his Gameplay rating whatsoever, neither for good or for ill.

tell the person who contacted with you that there is no effect when you leave a space blank....

Yeah, it doesn't affect his rating, but this brings up an interesting issue:


It looks as bad as if it were 0 stars, if you look down the list of ratings. Perhaps, instead of showing 5 gray stars, there should be a blank, or some other symbol, for NR?

"Princess" would have been an acceptable replacement for "cupcake" in this case.
