What's most important in a teammate on CC?

Postby luns101 on Mon Dec 15, 2008 1:26 pm

Fairly simple question...if you are looking at joining a team game on CC, which quality is most important?

When I am looking for teammates, I go on the past. I will generally try a few games with anybody and if they do not work out then you just do not play with them again.

The most important thing is that they check the chat !
They should be able to follow instructions, and contribute/give instructions themselves :)

I thought it was a willingness to take out your team mates armies.

I look at their turn % taken and how other players have rated thier team play...can get more points with a solid cook as your mate as opposed to a sloppy colonel.

Rank - higher rank means they care more about their rank and they will generally know what they are doing. They will be willing to communicate and coordinate because they understand that's what it takes to win. Rating is irrelevant and meaningless with this system.

Definitely communication. You need to be able to communicate with your team partner in order to get ANYWHERE in the game.

A partner must listen and do as he or she is told. If my partner don't agree with me then they are wrong and not worth partnering with. : )

For those of you who don't know me, yes I'm being sarcastic. I don't want to be accused of being an asshole, I am one, just don't want to be accused of being one.

turn % is number 1 with me, would rather play with a cook that plays 100% of the time than a colonel with a 95%.
You know you have a good partner when all 3 think as one. Most newbs have to learn that a team game is 3 people just NOT attacking each other but rather playing as one person.

I only consider one factor in a team game: Someone who makes plans for EVERY move in the chat, or someone who does not.

Well, that and if they are some random cook that does not know how to reinforce.

Reliability.

(beyond that...)

Lower ranks who can play should be in hot demand, as they maximise point gain. I am very lucky to have three fellow players in the office who, while not high-ranked, are actually decent players.

i like my teammates to bring the hookers and blow to the victory party... i usually provide the midget that functions as the party table, and i take care of the open bar... that is about it...-0

i would say.....the most important quality is trustworthiness. Who wants teammates who'd steal and cheat huh?

Something Waseem and velve would do well to bare in mind i'd say....

definitely rank

low ranks dont care about losing points which means they wont care too much if they lose

high ranks will make sure they do not lose games

if the player is good then he wouldnt be a cook and if he was sloppy then he wouldnt be a colonel

obviously lower ranks will gain you more points but i still prefer playing with higher ranks because they are way more determined to win

You're 'avin a larf aintcha????

I would have thought the most important qualities to be a team mate the the famous and truly awesome 'greatwhite' was that you hadn't been one of the countless players who had beaten him up regluarly in the game, and so were not on his foe list!

You logic is flawed. Just because someone managed to make it up to a hat (colonel) does not make them good at team games. I have played with many ranks, and some that are higher ranks, are just not up to par, while some lower ranks make better plays.
