So we've got over 100 maps x 2 -8 players x standard/terminator/assassin/doubles/triples/quads x escalating/fixed spoils/no spoils x etc etc.
Has anyone worked out how many possible variants of games there are now that can be set up? must be in the hundreds of thousands...!

203,112 is all maps (counting the fact that AoR maps and Feudal have limits on player) on all numbers of players, all modes of gameplay, all card amounts, all reinforcement rules, fog, and speed.

Are you sure?

Yeah, but only about 12 of those settings are worth playing
I know, I accounted in team games and maps with less players.
[ 7 x 3 (singleplayer) + 3 (doubles) + 2 (trips and quads) ] x 2 (play order) x 3 (cards) x 3 (forts) x 2 (fog) x 2 (speed) = 1872 for any normal map X 111 (assuming all maps are normal = 207,792 (But I did the calculation accounting for the odd maps.

This was from a prior thread... not long ago... based on 111 maps (which is still current)

Natewolfman wrote:to play every map on every possible combination of games/settings, you will have to play 191,808 games
Well whatta ya know... I get the same number... 191,808
I really thought it would be 207,792... but turns out you can't play 2 player terminator or 2 player assassin.......................
this is based on the 111 maps (at this moment), and each additional map will add 1,728 games (with the settings available at this moment)
Feel free to double check these numbers... i did this on the fly...
But it was pointed out that the correct answer is a few less, something to do with odd games like AoR with less Options

Ooops. No 2 player terminator or assassin. Let me recalculate.

Correct Calculation:
[ 7 (standard) + 6 x 2 (terms and assassins) + 3 (doubles) + 2 (trips and quads) ] x 2 (play order) x 3 (cards) x 3 (forts) x 2 (fog) x 2 (speed) = 1728 for any normal map X 107 = 184,896
AoRs I, II, Fedual: [ 5 (standard) + 4 x 2 (terms and assassins) + 2 (doubles) + 1 (trips) ] x 2 (play order) x 3 (cards) x 3 (forts) x 2 (fog) x 2 (speed) = 1152 for the maps X 3 = 3456
AoR 3: [ 6 (standard) + 5 x 2 (terms and assassins) + 2 (doubles) + 1 (trips) ] x 2 (play order) x 3 (cards) x 3 (forts) x 2 (fog) x 2 (speed) = 1368
184,896 + 3456 + 1368 = 189,720

184,896 + 3456 + 1368 = 189,720
well i don't know what all those formulas mean...
but using my abacus, i get exactly the same number... 189,720
And every new 'normal' map will add 1,728... So we need 6 more maps to break 200,000

Or one new option and then the possibilities go through the roof!

You mean an option like infected neutrals which will double the whole thing?

Are you differentiating between 4, 6 and 8 player doubles, or counting them as the same?

And in the vein of "applications of this" is my crazy tournament Every Single Setting: Classic (see sig). I don't do Freestyle, it's only on Classic, and there is no 2 player, but I did the math and the total number of played games per person would be 450, with the number of games I have to create assuming no mistakes at 1,692.

New game: figure out which games have not been made yet (there are a lot) and play them.
