What would people think of a map played on both the North American continent and the SOuth American/ Central American COntinent? I was thinking of something along the lines of this map, taken form a Diplomacy variant.

What do you think? Of course I would go back and edit the bonuses, names etc. but this map would be my starting point.

Tisha had an awesome draft of both of her maps together (both NA & SA maps that are quenched). It looked awesome, just too long for what CC allows.

What do you mean, too long? As in too complicated to put into play?

maybe i used the wrong wording, the height of the map is too high! i dunno man i have been out of the states so long i can't think of the right wording... would be hard to get all those terts into the regulated size CC allows for a map.

no he means that it exceeds the size limit of 840X800, but that's just a technical concern. I think it's a cool idea, my suggestion would be to break up USA further and add in the confederacy.

I'll work things out with different territories. I only posted the map because it would be the basis.

It's an intriguing map you've posted. Perhaps something along the lines of a Western Hemisphere counterpart ot the Eastern Hemisphere map.

But the key things you need to be aware of when proposing a map idea are that it has to fit within the map size dimensions and territories must fit both names and army numbers inside.

Take a look at this: viewtopic.php?f=466&t=40463

ALright, I took a look at that thread...

Do I have to make 2 maps, one small, and the other 33% bigger?

Yep... the small map has to be under 630 x 600 pixels and the large at 840 x 800

I like it but as menshioned, it's too big to go on with. I suggest you focus on the north of South-America (Columbia, Venezuela, Equador, Brasil, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana). We don't have a map of this region already and it's an interesting region (you could do a drug-war  ) I'm also a fan of the waterregions. Are those regions drawn by the lines of the national/international maritime law? Just a question.

Well, originally, the map was developed for a Diplomacy map by someone... (can't remember his name though), so there are different waterways etc for fleets.

I 'll see what it's like just doing the northern part of SA.

I"m about ready to scan a very rough draft of the map.

Do I have to create a new thread, or do i just post it here? If the latter, where would I post it? Over top the old map I put in or in a new post?

You want to take a look at the handbook,

viewtopic.php?f=466&t=40463

and there you'll notice that you should always update the first post of the thread and post the latest image in a reply. Just take a look at a thread in one of the workshops and see how they do it.

has anyone ever tried (and almost succeeded) to make a diplomacy or axis and allies style map before?
