It'd be good to incorporate a boat on the lakes or something to increase moveability. Other than that, this fellow Michigander approves the concept!

Also, the UP should be split into more bonuses.

like boats could switch from the uper up to the lower up?

i was thinking that but now you said that boat thing, im going to make it so all boats can attack the up, so it will be hard to hold

Ok... you're really not going to get a lot of feedback when you post your work at such an early phase. Basically, this is not even a map at this point, this is like 10% of a map, and that's generous.

It's a good start though. Now finish it up until you have a ready draft. Don't start adding stuff like boats on at this point. First things first. Create the territories and the rest of the graphics, ie. follow my tutorials to the end. Then post what you have created.

It's fine. Have some confidence. Besides, if something doesn't work you can always change it later. If you follow my tutorials, you will have a map file that is versatile and easy to make changes on.

I really think the UP should be split into two segments. If it's that big, then holding it would pretty much be overkill at that point. It's geographically about 1/3 or more of the map, and dedicating that much space to bonus doesn't seem wise :?

Another idea, what if you just did it by counties for territories (Genessee, Oakland, Wayne, etc.) and made the continent bonuses by geographical location? i.e., West, east, Midwest, Mid Michigan, etc.

no theres like 17 regions on the UP. so it should be all one bonus, it looks big but the regions are bigger.

This could be ok....hmm, well Michigan already takes center seat in the Great lakes map, so I think that you're really going to have to make this rule visually and technically to make it stand on it's own.

I took a shot at it today.

What do you think? I think Michigan would be better with fewer territories, as fitting in every single county would be hard to do and have it still be eligible, I think.

lol thanks. This was my first time using GIMP...ever. So, I got most of it from natty's guide. 40k wanted me to do the XML, but I got bored and tried for myself 8)

There's obviously a lot to add. Legend..impassables (rivers, I was thinking), and maybe boats connecting to the UP for gameplay's sake.
