Map Name: The Battle Of Adwa, March 1st, 1896
Mapmaker(s): vodean
Number of Territories: ~60
Special Features:
  • sebastopol, the giant cannon which the ethiopians had (did not work very well)
  • armies must follow paths of actual armies sometimes
  • like the big, complex war maps, but smaller and simpler
What Makes This Map Worthy of Being Made:
  • it is a cool historical event
  • could make for some very cool/unusual gameplay options
  • it is always fun to watch the italians get whooped

Map Image:
none yet... I want to play with ideas and get feedback first. Also probably need to wait until the end of the month and the end of exams.

Sounds like a good idea. Had to look into it. I'd just have The Battle of Adwa as the title. http://www.ethiopianism.info/1684/adwa- ... e-tegegne/

Do you have an idea for a "machine gun" game mechanic?

the battle of Adwa will be the eventual title, its just that some people might want to take a look atm if some big european countries are getting embarrassed. The machine gun and cannon will get a couple extra troops per turn and will be able only to bombard territories owned by the enemy. They will both start off as neutral. A basic image is on the way.
thanks for your input

sort-of, but that one is too colorful also, since it was painted by Ethiopians, it shows there being as many italians as ethiopians.
