NHS vrs the rest

Always thought i was so lucky having a National Health Service,Thats until my wife got seriously ill , hospitals trying to pawn her off on each other,to keep there waiting lists down,doctors saying sorry i cant help because of politics,3 separate stints in A@E for over 9 hours a time to be seen by doctors who say they don't have the authority to send her to the right hospital,and get sent home again ,my wife got dangerously ill on the 29 dec and has finally been given a bed in a ward, and its now the 11 jan!a doctor in Scotland tonight told me if we were in America or Canada,the brain scan she so desperately needs would happen in a few days!we have to wait till the 16th of this month,and thats been rushed through,Fair enough our health service is free,but i believe its a very shit service of health care ,1st world country my arse!

through experience? where ever your from.If u end up in casualty?how long do you have to wait to be treated?

basically how do you rate your own health service? if you've really been through its system?

im sure it cant be as bad as the N fukin. H. S

I've never really had many problems with health service, other than doctors are nothing much more than drug pushers these days. The emergency room is always a fair wait if you aren't dying right then and there.
My son had a medical emergency when he was 10 months old and he was saved. Had to fly him from my town to Richmond in a helicopter. It was very serious and he almost died, and let me tell ya, the docs moved quick that's for sure. Saved his life.

So, no complaints from me.
But I wish you and your wife the best of luck. I pray she recovers well.

I've done healthcare in a few major nations- the UK, the US, and Japan. The UK is best from my experience. Apart from dentistry.

I was bought up with (and have adhered to) the adage: You pay to be able to use the National Health Service and then pay again to avoid using it.
