Seriously

Chose the original studio version as it is easier to discern the words than many of the live versions.

I've read most of the thread but skipped about 30%, so forgive me if this is a duplication.

I've always assumed that Blasphemous Rumours by Depeche Mode would be a popular choice. Those immortal lines that sum everything up so perfectly:
(...)
I think that God's got a sick sense of humour
And when I die
I expect
To find Him laughing.
“‎Life is a shipwreck, but we must not forget to sing in the lifeboats.”

We sailed through endless skies
Stars shine like eyes
The black night sighs
The moon in silver trees
Falls down in tears

Light of the night
The earth, a purple blaze
Of sapphire haze in orbital ways

While down below the trees
Bathed in cool breeze
Silver starlight breaks dawn from night
And so we pass on by
The crimson eye of great god Mars
As we travel the universe

In My Time of Dying -Zep (Well, in that they stole it...)

..if my wings should fail below
please meet me with another pair...

I heard this as I was getting ready to skydive for the first time. Whenever I hear it, it reminds me of the turmoil my mind was going through as I tried to convince it to jump out of a fucking plane. Rationally and statistically, I was in far more danger driving to the airfield than jumping out of the plane, but my lifepreservationinstinct was never very good at math.
I'm Spanking Monkey now....err...I mean I'm a Spanking Monkey now...that shoots milk
Too much. I know.
