There needs to be a zombie film where the main characters, who have seen zombie films, use slashing weapons. Then there's a battle, and they slaughter the zombies, but after getting all that blood on them, they themselves turn into zombies. /film.

Predictably very little.
You can see that video above "Executioner severely injured" where the guy wielding the home-made scissor pipe from the Last of Us accidentally cuts his own arm, infecting himself. And the wielder, Charles Fultz, was chosen to be the executioner because of his weapons training in martial arts class.
They also did another review of the Ripper from Dead Island, which is a saw blade inserted into a baseball bat. It's devastating, but also weak at the same time.

But here's the deal, making reliable weapons takes time and skill. In an emergency, it's not gonna get much better than a knife duct-taped to a broom handle. And I think it would depend on what type of Zombies we are talking about too.
