My reaction exactly one of the most well known and heroic events of the last century.The British haven't always covered themselves in glory but on this occasion we faced down evil with minimal assistance in what has been rightly named 'our finest hour',forcing the abandonment of the planned invasion .
If you really are ignorant of this there are mountains of words written about it easily found on the internet....

The theory of gravity and the theory of evolution are two pretty important things as well. Britain has been the source of many great things, it's hard to understand why the PM choose to mention a pop band, even mentioning the Beatles would be a stretch, and One direction? Don't know a single song they've made and if anyone were to ask me what country they were from, I'd probbaly guess US. Maybe he thought he'd earn himself a few points among younger voters by mentioning one direction.
