Consider that the homosexual population of the United States is around 3%. That means, their persecution on hate crimes is far higher (7x that of standard percentages) than other groups.

Actually, lets see, so, approximately 22,500 per year are gay suicides. At a population of 317 million (estimated http://www.census.gov/popclock/), of which 3% are gay (according to the CDC). But lets use the made up 10% figure (it helps you), that's 32 million people are gay. That comes out to 70 per 100,000. 22500/4= 5625. 30,000 - 22500 = 7500

5625 + 7500 = 13125. 5625 of 13125 = 42.8% of teenagers are gay.
