Sure, Christianity borrows many customs from pagan religions, but Christianity is distinct enough to not equate it with Paganism.

Otherwise, it's like saying "since music group X was influenced by music groups s A through F, then music group X = music groups A through F." Everyone who plays jazz today and who was influenced by Louis Armstrong are now all Louis Armstrong. WRONG!

Carl who legitimately offers his life to Yahushua. Rick sees the positive change in his friend. Rick decides to give it a try, he goes to the meetings, tries to stay awake while someone reads letters... It's not bad, he figures the new calendars are nice.

Yay, now we're all happy christians! Caesar's decree changes winter solstice to Christmas. Everyone likes Christmas.

Carl has no desires apart from praying, spending time with his wife and children, reading and discussing the letters and giving things to poor people. His life is fulfilled.

Rick is pretty happy but his wife is annoyed when he gives money to poor people because she wants a new chisel and tablet. Rick misses getting loaded during solstice and banging hotties around the fertility tree. He takes a break from being "Christian" a few times a year. Um, the tree? Christmas tree! You should get one too.
