This is not the point,
a zoo is not supposed to be a slaughterhouse,
and the animals kept in a zoo are not supposed to be held there to end up as food for other animals,

we know where food comes from, but a slaughterhouse is a slaughterhouse
and taking animals apart is not for children eyes
at a later age its acceptable for kids to watch it to understand where there food comes from
but not from a zoo

You and Betiko like to run around naked in public. Maybe butchering giraffes in public is the Danish equivalent of flashing your schlong?

IIRC, the giraffes fought against Denmark in the War of the Spanish Succession. Danes have hundreds of years of enmity toward giraffes. Let's try to have some sensitivity toward the Danish point of view.

they are very famous for their openmindedness towards sex and drugs ( the opposite of the swedes)

but the publicly butchering of an 1 and half year old polish named giraffe is a disgrace
we will see where the puclic outcry will lead to

i know how we kill animals for our own food chain in this massindustry, i know the prices of meat in germany have plummeted
but we dont kill them publicly and for everybodys display, this is strictly wrong
i am not a vegetarian and i will never be, but i dont eat meat every day either,

but the least is to show respect to life and this has not been done here

OK, you convinced me mostly. I am a vegetarian (not an overachieving vegan like Metsfanmax). I don't have a problem with the use of the giraffe for meat per se, though I agree that public slaughter can have a desensitizing effect on people and should be avoided.

However, I would note that sex is an aggressive, violent act and I'm interested if the normalization of public sexual displays - as in Denmark - leads to a general decline in human empathy towards more overt violence like giraffe slaughter.

The general decline in human empathy towards sex is already going on in our society since the early 80´s
at least in Holland, Danmark,Austria and Germany
the general decline in human empathy towards publicly killing animals for everybodys display has just started
remember the year 2014
i am not an expert in saudi arabia or iran or afghanistan or some african countrys
but in some the public killing of humans is already happening
( i dont know if i can count the USA to this countrys, since there are people watching people get killed in death penalty in those chambers)
