Jeff Blitz, who let his dog Ace out early Thursday morning, detailed the moment he heard gun shots while sitting inside his garage.
“They shot the dog and then came to the garage. The dog came around to me and he (the trooper) said ‘you better calm down,’” Blitz told ABC 27. “I said, ‘calm down? You just killed my dog.’”

There should be a distinct difference between law enforcement and enforcing what you interpret to be the law, but it looks like that doesn't happen in all parts of the world.

why dont these cops use their pepper spray or tasers. seems that would save the tax payers a lot of money.

COPS shoot 10 month old puppy in owners own back yard, then arrest owner for 'interfering'
A Michigan couple is furious after police shot and killed their 10-month-old puppy in their own backyard.

Bianca Alakson and Ryan Showalter said their dog, Rock, was in their backyard Sunday morning when police began chasing a suspect through their Redford Township neighborhood, WDIV-TV reported.

Police said they saw their suspect in the couple's home. When officers went through the gate into the backyard to find the suspect, Rock charged, one officer said.

The officer fired one round, but when that didn't stop the dog, he fired a second, fatal shot.

Police arrested Showalter for interfering with the investigation when he confronted them about the situation. Showalter said he was just asking what happened to his dog.

What is up with these maniac cops and their trigger-happy shooting sprees? What, they see someone's pup and decide it's time for some target practice?

Granted, a 10-month-old pit bull can be intimidating, but did they have no other recourse besides gunning down an animal?

The linked stories from the first article are even worse. Antagonizing a service dog before gunning it down? Killing a dog at the wrong house that's playing frisbee with his owner? These ought to be crimes.
