Fresh Start for Obama?

Postby Phatscotty on Thu Nov 06, 2014 8:11 am

IMO

President Obama should get a fresh start, and whether he deserves it or not that's exactly the opportunity he has. It's the same opportunity Bill Clinton had in the early 90's when power was divided. In the end, Clinton did the right thing working with Republicans/triangulating, and that is why Clinton is beloved by 'Americans' and not just 'Democrats'. Nobody got everything they wanted, but everyone got something they wanted, and we balanced our budget, reformed welfare, and actually started to pay down our debts and safeguard social security, medicare/medicaid. The economy exploded, 'full employment' was realized, and the rest is history.

But this time it won't be as easy for Obama though, nor is it supposed to be as you make your bed that is what you sleep in. Take the high road Mr. President.... 'Dear Republicans, everything bad I ever said about you....JUST KIDDING! Can't we all just get along?' and not just say it with words, but be about it with actions. Guarantee you get a second chance to be an American president, and not just a Democrat President.

I think it could work

If you think the morass the US government is in is totally the fault of the democrats and Obama, you are blind and gullible. Also, don't get married as it will never succeed.

since when is it easy to be in power anyway? whatever you do, you'll always piss off people, mostly when you take over when the economy is doing shit. It's always easier to put all the blame on the guy in charge.

I would never be so shallow to believe that. You couldn't know, but I treated Bush almost as badly as Obama, in some ways worse as I was 100% against Iraq war and have more than a few friends who were in the 'National Guard' and got backdoor drafted into that war, but Obama gets it too for trillion plus deficits.

I do think it shallow that is what you took from my post offering Obama a fresh start.
