Well, maybe a voyage to the Pleiades. Maybe.

Ok, to a certain extent I get it. I loved playing MK in the arcade, at home on my SNES, and yes - at friends' houses on the Genesis.
I take fighting games pretty seriously. Mortal Kombat really sucked, as a fighting game. Every character had the same speed, and all the same attacks with all the same properties, except 3 or 4 specials. It did have one neat thing - the block button.
I can put Mortal Kombat in a Conquer Club analogy. Let's say a real fighting game (say, for example Mortal Kombat - the 2009 edition [but not the PC edition cuz f*ck]) is Conquer Club now. You might think, wow, this game is great, I better play the groovy one that everyone is talking about. You go to play Groovy Club and you choose a game. You click Begin Turn and all your territories instantly autoattack. You go to choose a territory to deploy and all your territories instantly autoattack. It's a nice polished autoattack - it has sound fx and cd grafx and all, but that's really all you can do. Boooring.

I don't know what version of Mortal Kombat this was.
But between Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam, and the air hockey machine, I would always choose the air hockey, then NBA Jam.

Were you too poor and Mexican for a Sega? Both Mortal Kombat and NBA jam were much better on a Sega

I just wasn't a big fan of videogames. I remember I had the nintendo, the only games i liked to play was RBI and Punch out. And maybe Mario 3. After that I didn't care much for video games, some friends and my cousins couldn't stop talking about them but for me it was meh. I was more into sports. I played the arcades because it was after school and was an excuse to hang out with other kids, and I played the air hockey machine mostly.
