Christian protesters traveled across the country to Dearborn, Mich., where they taunted attendees and even held a severed pig’s head for three days at the annual Arab International Festival. The protests turned violent Sunday, and by the end of the day as many as 10 people facing disorderly conduct or assault charges, according to ABC News Detroit affiliate WXYZ.

“You’re going to burn in hell,” a missionary reportedly yelled at a group of Arab-American boys, while other protesters held anti-Muslim signs that made bigoted remarks about Islam and its prophet Mohammed, including “Islam is a religion of blood and murder” and “Muhammad (Islam’s prophet) is a … liar, false prophet, murderer, child molesting pervert.” Young festival attendees later threw soda cans at the protesters and yelled, “Allah-U-Akbar” [God is the greatest], the Detroit Free Press reported.

I suspect if you went to the Crystal Cathedral and stood outside of it with a crucifix dipped in urine and a sign that said "Jesus was a Pedophile- all Christians will burn in hell!" and "Convert or Die!", eventually an empty soda can might connect with your head ...

Meanwhile, evangelizing Christians who went to the Arab International Festival with babies instead of severed pigs heads ...

This last weekend, Evie and I spent 4 days in Michigan on a short-term mission trip. Our goal was to do "mingling evangelism." Rather than share the gospel through formal steps or a tract, we were at the Arab International Festival in Dearborn, Michigan to talk to people and improve relationships between Muslims and Christians. It was difficult at times not to feel ineffective, but I know we were being obedient to what God called us to do!



This was one of the guys that came to our booth. He was very friendly and we had some good conversations. I had to get a picture of him with his Syrian (Saxi edit - not the Syrian flag, FSA rag) flag as a cape!



Two things about this picture: #1: God truly answered my prayers in regards to Evie! She was a magnet for people! Just the fact that she was so little (and the way I was carrying her in the wrap) drew people in. It was so cool to experience a common bond with the Arab women. The little girls loved her, too - these two came to our table every single day to touch her head and peek at her!
