the program’s founder is Max Goldstein, a 12-year-old who, while attending the funeral of a boy murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary, resolved that the violent games he loved were just too real to take after Adam Lanza’s shooting spree.

How did they secure the money, and where is the money coming from?
I've no idea, but I doubt this event is motivated by 100% altruism.

Indeed, though as I pointed out before, they probably just felt they had to do something. My gut reaction though is that $25 is insanely too large a figure, since one could easily go on craigslist and buy them and sell them back for a profit....which as speculative as that may be...has to have happened already.

So if we're going to be asking what's wrong with people, maybe we should worry about those guys, instead of a grieving, traumatized child. You know the shooting was broadcast over the PA system, right? Every kid heard people screaming and dying.
So obviously it's fake.

Since the truther's aren't looking to ban anything right now and don't have the power to ban anything in any event, they really don't worry me all that much. But if you want to put credence into truthers and worry about those guys, go right ahead; you're just wasting valuable time that you could use to pursue justice against TPDS, an organization that, unlike the truthers, has the power to control government right now.
The group’s action is not intended to be
construed as statement declaring that violent video games were the cause of the shocking
violence in Newtown on December 14th.
Rather, SouthingtonSOS is saying is that there is ample evidence that violent video games,
along with violent media of all kinds, including TV and Movies portraying story after story
showing a continuous stream of violence and killing, has contributed to increasing
aggressiveness, fear, anxiety and is desensitizing our children to acts of violence including
bullying. Social and political commentators, as well as elected officials including the president,
are attributing violent crime to many factors including inadequate gun control laws, a culture of
violence and a recreational culture of violence.

These are some great platitudes.

Given the tragedy and others like it, they are outright inspirational, IMHO.
