I've never thought of Ikea as a place to eat.

They were pretty decent and like $3.99 with fries or mashed potatoes. Why don't people want to eat delicious horses?

The problem is that the horse bit isn't mentioned in the list of ingredients, and it may contain antibiotics and stuff not intended for use by humans. If it were mentioned and deemed safe from the start there wouldn't really be a problem.

You make it sound like someone might put melamine in baby formula.

I agree with the "mention it first" part (generally). My take on these food issues is twofold: (1) as long as I don't get sick, I don't care what's in it and I don't care if you didn't tell me what was in it (and I've had a good share of Ikea's meatballs); (2) why are these stories coming out now... there have been like 5 or 6 of them in the last couple of weeks; perhaps it's a slow news cycle... why report on Middle East conflict when you can report on horsemeat being in Ikea meatballs.

TGD, I think it is pretty obvious horse-meat balls, just like the spider-rain (that really wasn't spider rain) in South America, are the news stories really changing and having an impact on the world.

Middle where?

I also want to know a lot more about the Blade Runner murders and the Oscars and the cruise line fiasco.

TGD, I don't think any one person can handle all that hard news. Here, let me toss you some softball news to chew on for a while.

I'm guessing some nice Italian suitmaker. But I'll let the red carpet correspondents get into the trenches to get that information.

The first person who started this Horse scare in the Conquer Club was Symmetry. Now there are several horse threads. What are the chances this is just all a plan by Symmetry to cause people to have an irrational fear of horses for the benefit of his Horse alarm distributorship?

Horse Alarm seems to have been developed outside of Saxi's photoshop though. http://ludaelektronik.com/content/en/horseAlarm/

Please let Symmetry know that merely placing a "TM" does not mean that the item in question is a registered trademark. Although using "TM" will potentially put others on notice, I would suggest registering the trademark.

Good point. That woman is finally having a restful night's sleep without fear a horse is going to try to break into her boudoir. She also needs the peace-of-mind that comes with knowing you've purchased an original Symmetry Horse Alarm, not a cheap knock-off.

Correct. This is actually what a Horse Alarm is for -

- basically, if your horse dies, it alerts you so you can get it to the IKEA meat processing plant before it goes bad.

The alarm didn't go off. I guess it isn't that effective.

Has the Horsemeat scandal hit America then? We've been informed about many many of our minced based microwavable meals being laced with horse already ranging from hospital and prison food to spag bols being served at restaurants.

Registered by what entity? As a freemarketeer (I just got my hat with the ears), I think there should be multiple competing private corporations regulating trademarks.

Yeah- that's the way forward.

Ok, I'll admit that's pretty f*cking hilarious but nowadays I only find saxi's horse-related humor funny for some reason. Probably because it's mostly harmless. However, his jokes revolving around his personal loathing of young animals and of koalas in particular I think are just a bit much.
