Didn't play too much of the Popping Bubble game. Actually, we didn't play too many board games when we were kids, not until we were maybe closer to being teenagers. Otherwise, as kids, we played a lot of Eenie Aye Over.
There are two teams on either side of a garage or house.
Basically, you take a ball (soccer ball, basketball, kick ball, football...not a baseball or softball); and then one team would throw it over a house or garage roof shouting "EENIE AYE OVER!"
If the ball didn't make it over the roof, the team would yell: "PIG TAILS!!!!" And the throwing team would throw again until they made it over the roof.
If the ball makes it over the roof, but the other team doesn't catch it, they are supposed to yell: "PIG TAILS!!!!" And they throw it back to the other team.
If the ball is actually caught by the opposing team, the player that caught the ball needs to run as fast as they can to either side of the garage or house and try to hit a player with the ball (kind of like Dodge Ball).
If a person is struck by the ball they are then considered out of the game, and then possession belongs to the opposing team.
They do the same thing by calling "EENIE AYE OVER!" and proclaiming "PIGTAILS" until the other side catches the ball and runs around and tries to strike out a player.
This goes on until there is only one player left. The game ends when no players are left on one of the sides of the garage or house.
Get it?
I guess some people called it EENIE EENIE AYE OVER...or ANNIE AYE OVER...but it is still the same game...perhaps a bit similar to both Dodge Ball and Kick the Can.
