A lot of people are saying the Wyoming game against Fresno (undefeated #16 I think) is a good trap game. Fresno has NEVER won in Laramie, has a defense that has been exposed through the air and on the ground (Wyoming has an offense that when it gets going, is high octane and very well balanced) and a very one dimensional offense (they've had issues running the ball, except against Nevada who can't stop anyone), but their passing game is very dangerous.

Elements going into Saturday's game-
High of 48 (game starts at 8:15pm, probably around 32 by that point), wind is fact of life in Laramie and could very well, along with the colder temps, effect Fresno's passing game, and a defense that is losing depth and has been exposed not only through passing, but through the ground game.

However, a lot depends on how quickly the Wyoming offense gets going, and the changes to the defense since firing Tormey. Our D-line coach took over as DC and we hired a defensive consultant who has had proven defenses over the years (most recent was at Oklahoma State for the 2011-2012 season). With Tormey, in 2 games, we allowed 1100 yards and 100+ points of total offense.

Yeah, he gone.

That's Saturday's game. I'm talking about the games tonight.

Let's see Oklahoma lead by 2 points early in the Second Quarter before Baylor left them in the dust and never looked back. 41-12

Stanford is walloping Oregon 23-0 after 3 Quarters
26 - 20 FINAL

It seems upsets mostly happen when I don't expect them to...I guess that's why they are called upsets.

Miami, Notre Dame, Texas Tech fall and Vandy wins at Florida
making it possible the Gators won't be bowl eligible this year.

LSU blows some huge opportunities and Alabama uses a fake punt at mid field to extend a 3rd Quarter drive, break the 17-17 tie and get rolling. The Elephant rumbled from that point on running over the Tigers for a 38-17 win. The Crimson Tide is still the measure of who's the best, but Florida State is looking really dominant and Auburn looks bigger on the Bama calendar now.

Utah had #22 Arizona State on the ropes, but 13 unanswered points in the final frame gives the Sun Devils a 20-19 win. Texas wins in OT at West Virginia to remain unbeaten in the Big 12 setting up big games with Oklahoma State and Baylor.

I'm not sure if Murray had crossed the Goal Line before his knee was down on 4th & Goal to take the lead, but I am sure the ball was not swatted down on 4th and 18 with 30 seconds remaining.

I'm not sure if Penn Wagers still hates us for the Florida incident...or if he just feels that he might as well keep doing what he's been doing to Georgia for the last 5 years. Seriously, the guy fucking hates Georgia and every time he officiates one of our games, he just slams us with penalties and bad calls. That fumble which should have been Georgia's (the Georgia player had his hands around the ball, the Auburn player had his legs around the Georgia player's arms and was trying to get at the ball.) was at least a 7 (probably at least 10 as Georgia would have been in field goal range where they recovered it) point swing in the game and neither the questionable touchdown nor the tipped touchdown pass may have been necessary if it had been called correctly. Either way, I can't honestly say I was expecting to beat Auburn this week, so I guess I should be happy that it was so close... :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

It's 4th & 18, Auburn needs a miracle and Georgia's double coverage
makes the worst defensive play of the year. Players have to know
the situation... bat the ball down and the game's over.

Yeah, anyone know if Mizzou wants Dave Christensen back? Our team is now regressing in nearly every part. Hell, Brett Smith, who started out the year putting up great numbers and looking confident, looks beaten and is making bad throws that earlier in the season, he makes good ones.

Fresno still undefeated, USU getting back on track despite not having Chuckie Keeton, SDSU needs to just run the ball and throw it on rare occassion, UNM is now without their starting QB and RB (in the triple option pistol, you're done), Air Force is on their umpteenth QB for the season, CSU is somehow winning, and UNLV is on the verge of bowl eligibility for the first time in over a decade.

I'm ready for basketball.

The funny thing is, I don't think #25 (the one I primarily blame as I think the other guy was in a position where he would have either intercepted or dropped it and hopefully was informed to take a knee or ran out of bounds before doing something stupid if he had intercepted) ever knew where the ball was. He just kind of held up his hands like "I don't know what's going on."

Less than a minute to play and Auburn has possession at their end of the field. 4th Down & 18, a deep ball is tossed into double --almost triple-- coverage and both guys should be knocking it down, not trying to intercept the pass.

There is a thinking side to this game and those defenders were both in position to clinch the win. Knocking down that pass seals the deal and completes a huge comeback and unlikely upset.

Murray's effort to erase a 20 point deficit in the last 12 minutes was huge. Getting the ball back with 30 seconds to play and still managing two shots at the end zone from just outside the red zone for Georgia was amazing too.

That... was a tough way to lose a game.

Well, Wyoming's Brett Smith just set the NCAA record this year for most yards by a QB with 640 total yards and 8 TDs against Hawaii after today's win (and kept the Paniolo Trophy).

Our defense sucks though. Can't even call it a defense anymore. Got a couple of decent plays, but mostly was really bad.

SDSU just beat BSU in OT. 34-31. Looks like, barring my Pokes somehow upsetting them, USU will be playing Fresno in the MWC title game.

The Oklahoma State vs Baylor Game was very weird. Baylor drives down the field, their QB breaks lose for long run from mid field that looks like he'll score easily for a 7-0 lead. Instead he trips over his own feet falling at the 2 yard line, next play the Baylor tailback tries to reach the ball over and is stripped... recovered by OSU at the one.

The Cowboys get out of that hole with a 29 yard pass and continue a drive of 99 yards for the first TD of the game. Second Quarter they add a another TD for a 14 point lead. Towards the end of the 1st half Baylor moves quickly into scoring position but a receiver drops a pass in the end zone and they settle for a FG.

Second half is more of the same; a Baylor drive ends with a fumble at the OSU 25 and later with a 1st & goal at the one yard line a bad snap results in a 88 yard fumble return for another Cowboy TD. It was just that kind of night... Baylor Bears can't win in Stillwater.

#5Oregon got thumped by unranked Arizona while Stanford romped over Cal and #17 Arizona State only manages a FG in the second half but hangs on to beat #14 UCLA. #22LSU manhandles #12Texas A&M and Florida is upset by Georgia Southern to end their bowling streak. The Eagles rush for 429 yards --0 passing yards on 3 attempts-- and even knowing it was all runs the Gators still couldn't stop them.

Florida is just plain awful this year. To be honest, they were bad last year but somehow managed to only lose once in the regular season.

Well, Auburn knocks off Bama in probably the most spectacular way you can.

So, Florida State vs Ohio State or SEC winner?

I kind of think that Ohio State is going to lose next week (They really should have lost today but I think that a receiver forgot to bump the defender that would have cleared the other receiver for the 2 point conversion. Kind of a poorly designed play anyways I thought) but part of that's probably wishful thinking. If Mizzou ends up topping A&M and OSU or FSU loses than it will be SEC champion vs one of them. IF both FSU/OSU lose I am not sure who will play the SEC champion but if Mizzou loses than Auburn will need to win for SEC to have any shot at the championship. If neither FSU or Ohio State loses it will probably be them in the NC.

IT's also interesting to see Bama lose a game due to an inability to make field goals after seeing them win so many before because their opponents failed to do just that.

Michigan played their best game of the year and the Buckeyes were inconsistent, stopping themselves with dropped passes and penalties. But they were good enough to win, yet fortunate the way the game played out. I don't think the Wolverines would have prevailed had it gone to OT.

Bama wasn't so lucky... as Coach Saban said afterwards, "We shouldn't lost it like this." That final play was unreal and probably had more people saying OMG! simultaneously than any event in recent memory. An Iron Bowl OT would have been a real nail bitter and I'm not sure who would have won it. The stats for the game were very close, but Auburn actually converted more 3rd downs.

The 99 yard touchdown pass that gave Alabama the 4th Quarter lead in the game was equally unlikely and I thought just might be the final nail in Auburn's coffin as both defenses seemed to be stepping up their pressure.

Awesome rival games today, including Georgia's comeback to beat Georgia Tech in 2 OTs. The Big 12 still has two left, Texas @ Baylor and Oklahoma @ Oklahoma State, which decides the Champ.

Michigan State vs Ohio State
Duke vs Florida State
Auburn vs Missouri
Arizona State vs Stanford

I do think Florida State and Ohio State win and they're in.
