HitRed, as I read some of his posts, is asking that you (all of us, actually) let The Lord into your life, to consider that you become more willing to listen to others and to consider doing things from a less egotistical stance. What is wrong with that? Yes, his messages have a very religious overtone. And…?

Yes, many do not want to discuss or even consider that religion is a legitimate point of view. HitRed is on a soapbox trying to exhort others to consider being more caring of others; that is the essence of the message of Christ. And yes, HR has other ideas. And you can choose not to read any of his posts. But before you dismiss him as crazy, examine your life. Ask yourself if you are really happy? What do you need to do to be truly happy?

I will admit that I do not read ALL or even MOST of HitRed’s post. But this is a key idea that HR posted: “Here I am waiting at the door. You must open the door to let me in.” The choice is yours. You have the free will to choose or to reject the offer.

If you choose Jehovah and it turns out the one true god is Shiva, you will be condemned for your false belief in Jehovah. Most religions have more than one god. A unique feature of the religions of Christianity, the Hebrews, and Muslims is that they all claim only one God. And if I recall correctly, two of three have the SAME God. And to further the main point here, how many are actively worshiping Thor or Quetzalcoatl?

Quetzalcoatl was one of several important gods in the Aztec pantheon, along with the gods Tlaloc, Tezcatlipoca and Huitzilopochtli. Two other gods represented by the planet Venus are Quetzalcoatl's ally Tlaloc (the god of rain), and Quetzalcoatl's twin and psychopomp, Xolotl, the dog-headed soul-guide for the dead.

And Duk chooses a rather ridiculous example, so I will offer him as human sacrifice to Quetzalcoatl, since he seems enamored of this god. Or instead, we can offer Duk as human sacrifice to Thor.

Duk seem to take a keen interest in gods of war and death. The toll of human sacrifice to the Aztec gods are particularly reprehensible. Duk can wager on them if he sees value there; I do not, for many reasons.

In my understanding of most Christianity variations, there is a tolerance of other religions and gods, especially in modern times. In some such theologies, there is even ways for those of peaceful adherents of those religions who have a sincere belief in their God of the chance to reach eternal reward with the Christian God.

And Pascal's Wager is only one argument I made and so far, the rest have been ignored.

To say that "no one here likes you" is simply incorrect. DirtyDishSoap is an idiot; he has said or posted little to counter that assessment. Because I call dds or someone wrong for incorrect facts or incorrect conclusions may cause someone to dislike me. So be it. I do not value the conclusions of dds on much. He brags about getting banned more than once; I have no respect for such an "accomplishment."

Further, many of my 3200+ posts you and dds will never read and/or never have the opportunity to read. Most posts in this Forum have been on: Economics, Astronomy, global warming, and countering the COVID lies and misleading statements by saxitoxin. (Since saxi puts out so much garbage about COVID and its vaccines, many of my posts in the past 18 months has been devoted to countering his lies and refutation of his obfuscation.) I do not recall much knowledge or insight on these topics by many.
